For the battery tender - how long is "periods of non riding", a week, a month?
I plug it in as soon as the engine cools down and leave it. If I'm riding it the next day, I don't. If I know it's going to be idle for a couple days, I plug it in.
Everytime my GT goes into the garage, I plug in it's battery tender. Why not?
-All it takes is a few seconds to plug and unplug, and I know I could go away for a few days
and forget about the scoot and it will still always be fully charged and ready to ride..
Why create uneccesary tension for yourself? 8)

Obtain a loaf of Italian bread and slice lengthwise. Combine small amount of extra virgin olive oil, large amount softened butter and fresh minced garlic. Mix until soft. Spread liberally on bread and add a generous amount of pecorino romano and asiago cheese. Reassemble loaf, buttered side together and wrap in aluminum foil. Place in pet carrier at beginning of ride and be prepared to enjoy at the end of ride. Should plan on several hours of riding and inverting loaf at least once. Mangiare!!
Are you making this up or have you tried it? It really sounds delicious!
Made it up on the fly. Should work though. Keep an eye open for my cookbook thread.
No thanks, if all the recipes in that cookbook are made up on the fly too

I was surprised to discover that the glove box also gets pretty hot due to the radiators... I was carrying around a patch kit with C02 canisters and when I went to get something out they were pretty warm! Not sure if it's safe to carry them around in there any more!
No problem, it is safe in there. I've carried my plug kit with a few O2 cartridges in there, for over 15,000 miles, and not one has exploded yet.

Yet Razz emoticon

Thanks for the confirmation windbreaker - I'll put them back in there. I got the kit pretty early as I was barely 100 miles into my first scoot when I got a thumbtack size nail in the brand new tire!!!

On the battery tender, I got the Battery Tender Jr., and it had a nice permanent attachment wire (the one on the right) that you can install on your batter, pull the wire down through the area behind the pet carrier so that you can plug and unplug as needed. The part that stays with the scooter even has a rubber cover so that it doesn't get all grungy/wet when riding.

About the battery tender,

It all depends on what battery type you have, if
you have a battery with distilled water then you
also need to top off your battery too. 8)

You would think Vespa would have designed the new 300 so the side vents were functional but alas they stuck a big black coolant bottle there to completely cover these vents on the inside.

Talking about the BATTERY TENDERs, I was wondering if this was any good:

That is the battery tender I've used on my scooters for three years now. It works well and won't overcharge your batteries.

That's the gas tank.

You are correct. I don't know why I said coolant tank.
