Modern Vespa

Well this has been on my mind for a few weeks and I just have to ask.
In the US around 1982-85 we had a fad called Mod's at my high school we had maybe 30 or so Vespas, now kind of seeing the age of most the members here and other site. Were you a mod In the 80's with a Vespa?

In 82'........I was in the Persian Gulf on a grey NZ warship, UN Peacekeeping for the Brits while they went to a punch-up in the Falklands.

i would have to say that back in 80 one had to be carefull of what one called themselves

in sd the kids were pretty proud of their identity

i wasn't a mod

the mods were sharp, all well dressed no matter the quality of clothes, and could move on the floor like no other

i was a product of punk skate surf

i was also into early break, i could dance a mix of soul and beat break that was trick

my buddys had a band called the paladins, so rockabilly was in the mix too

When I think of the 1980's I don't think of Vespa.

Back then I hated those scooters, though I always liked the spree as a liquor store bike. Now Id own one if it was cheap to free.

The rocker side of this mocker ruled in the early '80's. Unfortunately my limp straight hair wouldn't shape into a pompadour no matter how hard I tried, so I had to settle for standing it straight up with good old Aqua Net. I did lust after a scooter though.

I was an aspiring mod. hung out with the punks, rode a vespa, had a crush on a mod...

By '86 I was a "death mod", think goth with scooters and parkas.

i bought mine new, or should i say my dad did

i did have a union job with the i.a.m.a.w.u at the ripe age of 18

it was weird explaining my job to other 16 to 18 year olds

patrick, the mod girls were always cuter

they wore dresses and tight pants and their hair was usally flat as opposed to sprayed up

right

I was a mod, but didn't own a scooter. Couldn't really afford one back then. Starving student.
