Just had this pointed out on eBay - dunno if anyone's already posted it but I'm on here every day and hadn't seen it so... well... I'll be furious if I've missed it somehow.

I notice that it looks nothin' like a Vespa and also

That's actually a Honda Metro, and that photo has been floating around the web for a few years.

No, those jet engines aren't attached. No, it's not a Vespa. No, this is not a real ebay auction.

That's annoying. I hate when people misrepresent their goods.

Nothing to do with pedantry...I just wanted to see this amazing jet Vespa!

And you're right...it's totally wrong Nerd emoticon Isn't that a picture of the 'jet scooter' that was being 'built' by an 'engineer' in the US who apparently strapped a jet engine to a new shape Beetle?

If it is true, then that Beetle looked bloody lethal. Standard wheels, brakes, half-arsed reinforcement, and half a jet engine where the back seats were...I like it warm and toasty in the car, but there is such a thing as taking the piss!

Re: that scooter. Even if it's for real, who on earth would think it a good idea to jet-power something that runs on a pair of 12 inch wheels? ROFL emoticon

Reminds me of a certain Darwin awards urban myth involving a jet engine, a cliff, a '66 Chevelle, and a fuckin' idiot ROFL emoticon

Thanks for the larfs J, I needed it!

That Metro was actually in California. There was a thread on it yesterday:

How embarassing. Well at least some smiled.
