Modern Vespa

I hate moving - but - I'm finally here and getting settled in. I rented a U-Haul truck and decided (shhhh!!!!) to transport my 500 in the rear of the truck. For thosee interested I used a crap mattress I got from my sister to cushion against the side of the truck. I used a quilt and a piece of pegboard against the outside then used three straps to pull the 500 as snug against the truck as possible. I thought it was overkill until I hit the roads in Arkansas. Holy crap they were bad - and a few bad spots south of Dallas on I-35 too. All that and it took a small tilt as you can see from the photos. Other than that she sputtered and then fired right up when I rolled her down.
So of course Austin finally gets some rain the day I have some scootin planned awwwww. So I decided to post this instead. Now me, Jacquie and the other Austinites need to go for a ride soon!

Yeah it was great riding with you and meeting up Bubbajon! Now my bike's twin is across the country . Well, I guess they're not twins anymore since mine got donated to Knight Industries . Good luck in Austin...I'm hoping I'll get to go to Amerivespa next year so maybe we'll meet up again...

Well hell yeah you'd better pop in! By then we'll have all the good local rides down pat. I can tell ya already Fredricksburg is a gotta. You can do a big loop from Austin to Llano to Fredricksburg and back - very scenic ride through the hill country. Hope to see you again next week too Jerry. We'll grab Jacquie and head on out. Soon as she checks in we'll do lunch down at Crazy Mary's.

That's his son. I got to meet him at Nightfall in Chattanooga.

It looks like I may be rained out this week. We had 7" in part of Dallas the last two days and still not sure when it will let up. If so, I'll move to the following week.

As for pics, I'll definitely go to Fredricksburg, do the "three sisters" in the Hill Country and try to do video. I got a helmet cam this week off Ebay. It has to record into a camera with AV in (most only have AV out) but I have one coming (cheap HD) from B&H that is supposed to be here tomorrow. I'll test and post about that rig. The whole rig - both cams - is less than $300 but should turn out something worth watching. That should interest you, Fuzzy.

And I was wondering who brought the rain...
Where in Austin? Let me know when you guys (and gals) are going for a ride. I just got my 620 mi service done, so, I'm becoming more confident little by little.

On another note, a guy was caught by his small son doing the "bow-chicka-bow-wow" sound. The son, wanting to emulate his dad, started going around saying this phrase. Only he didn't quite understand what his dad had said and so tried what he thought was close, which was "Brown chicken, brown cow".

Funny I a friend of mines son did it similarily but he said Brown chicka brown brown lol
