Noticed on Scooter Superstore web site they have added a store in St Augustine, FL. Checked Piagio's dealer locator. They give the old address on HWY 1, but the map shows the Scooter Superstore location and the link goes to Scooter Superstore web page.

Vespa St Augustine had a good reputation and gave me great help on the way to bike week in the spring, so hopefully Scooter Superstore will continue service in the area.

Scooter Superstore is up to 8 loactions in Georgia and Florida and has become a major player in the region.

Yeah, they moved into the building of my old Vespa dealer here in Jacksonville Beach. They are the Wal-Mart of scoot shops. One popping up on every corner.

I've done business and received service from 2 of their locations in Atlanta and if all are of the same quality service, customers will have little to complain of. I have also met the owner and he is dedicated to scooters. He believes in business that focuses on scooters rather than a one focused on motorcycles that happens to have scooters in the corner. His mechanics go to Piaggio training. He also has a Vespa museum in Florida with some information of it in their web page.

I am curious what happend to the other dealer who did well by me in the spring. Also, even with the best owner, the individuals in the specific store make all the difference. I'll be down that way for Biketoberfest and like to know where to go for help if I need it like last year.

They are great to deal with. The owner was an early Vespa dealer long ago.

Bad comparison though. Peter, the owner, is a serious, and old school scooter guy. Not sure I'd go with the 'Walmart' comparison, but he is certainly expanding and doing the stores right.

Before this gets out of hand let me say that I in no way meant the "wal-Mart" reference to be to be used in a detrimental way. I simply meant that they were popping up all over the place. I have been to both Jacksonville locations and the staff I encountered were both courteous and helpful and while I was at the Jax beach location they helped a guy repair a problem he was having with his starter for free.

Not sure if this is true...but I heard that Peter, owner of Scooter Superstore, had offered the owner of Vespa Fort Lauderdale a deal to buy his dealership(s) at one time and they refused to sell...I think they are threatened by Scooter Superstore and how they are expanding so quickly into their once monopolized market share of this area. I bought my Stebel Magnum horn from their Hollywood, Florida location but getting any service work from them is next to impossible as they are always booked up or very busy...bought it there and brought it home to install myself. The only thing that bothers me about a place like Scooter Superstore is that they did or still do sell crap brands such as Daelim scooters...just my opinion about them being crap but I did try out the bigger touring like bike from Daelim two years ago and hated the ride...Just My Opinion on Daelim but even the fact they carry that cheapens Scooter Superstore to my....
