This should be fun...Let's see what everyone comes up with. Let us know whether you've tested you recipes.

Obtain a loaf of Italian bread and slice lengthwise. Combine small amount of extra virgin olive oil, large amount softened butter and fresh minced garlic. Mix until soft. Spread liberally on bread and add a generous amount of pecorino romano and asiago cheese. Reassemble loaf, buttered side together and wrap in aluminum foil. Place in pet carrier at beginning of ride and be prepared to enjoy at the end of ride. Should plan on several hours of riding and inverting loaf at least once. Mangiare!!

Untested. Should have tried it at AV2009.

pet carrier smoothie

ingredients:
ice cream
mangoes
one unpaved road, the more potholes the better

peel and slice mangoes. put into pet carrier with ice cream. seek out the poorest road you can find and go for a ride. best results are obtained when shocks are in a knackered state.

drink up before it gets warm

Take your favorite leftovers out of the fridge, pack them in the pet carrier, remove and enjoy at the pique-nique destination: voila!

Vespa Veggie & Beef Stew

Ingredients:
- 3/4 lb stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 can (28oz) stewed tomatoes
- 1 can (15oz) green beans
- 1 can (15oz) corn
- 1 can (15oz) sliced carrots
- 1 can (15oz) sliced potatoes
- 1 can (4oz) sliced mushrooms
- 1 envelope dry soup mix (eg. garlic & herb)

Add all the ingredients to a pet carrier of a large-framed Vespa and do not drain the veggies. Ride continuously for 8 hours (double time in winter).

* For best results, purchase the optional high-tensile Piaggio monoque non-stick press-steel pet carrier replacement.

(not tested... yet.)

I always like a good laugh, but it would be great if this could become a serious thread of ideas that might actually work out in our engine cookers. The garlic bread is one such idea. For more perishable foods, I think they need to be pre-cooked (not the veggies).

I had measured 111F, one other person had measured 123F. So, somewhere between those two is your preheated oven...

Cut out the bottom of your pet carrier and put in a grill or mesh, and you can broil!

Jus-covered engine. Yummy!

I don't think the plastic pet carrier is going to be very effective in cooking, hence the suggestion for a custom steel pet carrier... If it gets to 123F/51C with a plastic pet carrier, imagine what it could have been with a steel one! I actually think it might make a possible slow cooker/crockpot... hence the Vespa Veggie and Beef Stew

I doubt my little 50cc oven will warm up enough to do anything (I often carry sandwiches with grated cheese in them to be used on a sandwich maker in the office, and the cheese is still cold when I arrive at the office 30min ride away) so I'll most likely have to settle for this:

Hot Chocolate.

1 Decent Milk Chocolate easter egg

Place in Carrier - hoping ice block in chiller bag will work.

Ride 6-7km (4 horses hooves or whatever the unmetricated measure is)

Open seat

Pour out chocolate, and drink

clean out carrier, lock, wet weather gear.

Chastise self for such a silly idea

buy bag to hang from hook!
