My 500 was hooked up with the 1000 ohm resistor trick so that I could disable the seat sensor, but I'm not sure if this has any connection to my problem.

All of a sudden yesterday, I stopped and tried to engage the stabilizer as usual, when the yellow light was flashing, and all I get is the stabilizer icon flashing on the dash with the long 2-3 second beep that just continues.

So I took out the resistor and plugged the seat sensor back in but still the same problem. Hit the stabilizer button, but only the warning comes on the dash with no lock.

Any opinions on this or take it in to my mechanic.

Thanks

Dunno if this is having any bearing on your situation, but mine was doing that and having blinker wierdness as well coming home yesterday. I think that submerging it in a torrential downpour had something to do with it, because it got better as things dried out. That said, I'm scheduling a service today and will have them look at sealing the bugger up a little better.

Will it lock and unlock with a double tap on the locking switch?

@ Georgiagirl

No it's been dry here and the bike's not been wet for a while.

@ Wayne B

When I flick the switch once in the locking direction all I get is the red light coming on and the long beep. the only way to turn it off is to accelerate or to double tap the switch to the left twice. But as far as double tapping it, it did not do anything when I tried it.
