Having upgraded the 500 with HID's I noticed the piss yellow third eye.
To solve that I ordered a T-10 wedge Product #45689 from www.ledlight.com/t10-194-automotive-led-lights.aspx

Questions,
did you get the blue LED? and then what color range are your HID's? I'm going to do the HID mod and want to match the 6000k, I'm thinking blue would work, but the Super white might be a better match eh? Ultimately I'd like to put a strobe in the enlightened 3rd eye with a switch wired to it. I know it's illegal, but I need a "You're a bastard!" light. The other day some fucker purposely slammed on his brakes after cutting me off. If I had my Glock he may have had some holes in the back of his car... The next best I could do was pass him and give him the jack Off motion with the left hand and the finishing Flick in his direction. I hope he got the gist. |

If you installed 6000k HIDs, then a standard white LED will be an exact color match.
If your color temperature is higher (7000->9000), you'll need a slightly blueish led. I'll try to put up a picture of my MP3 400LT with this exact setup (6000k + LEDs) later today to give you an idea. |

I was thinking of making my third light bright orange. Kind of like a truck running light. I know it is legal and hopefully it would make the scoot more distinguishable.

I modified my turn signals to be running lights as well and use amber LEDs in them - making the center light match in amber would probably make the front even more conspicuous, and that's a worthy goal. |

Bravotwofour- you're totally right, it was an inappropriate comment, however when you are going 60mph in the hov lane and the guy scion next to you decides to cut in front of you it's uncalled for. You honk your horn to warn him you're right behind him and then all of the sudden he slams on his brakes, hard enough to make your wheels lock up and almost Garfield you into his back window. In my book that is intent to cause bodily harm with a dangerous weapon, a 3000lb dangerous weapon. Obviously pulling a gun out and shooting at a car on the freeway is rediculous and more than dangerous, I was mad enough to want to though. plus at that point it would not even be considered self defense, that period ended after I released my brakes, a short window of opportunity of which I'd rather brake. After that it just becomes cold blooded revenge, worthy of jailtime, jailtime I most definitely don't want to spend! Don't worry, I am a responsible person, just get flustered when people try to kill me with intention. Tell me what kind of cager thinks it's a good idea to stop short in front of a motorcyclist? Especially in retaliation for getting honked at and especially on the freeway! I stand by that he got the international jerk off sign with validity. |

miggidy: I have the exact same LEDs (there are 3 on the MP3 400) as the one pictured in your initial post (I think they're called SMT LEDS).
I would have sent a better picture, but I only had my iPhone on hand and it turns out taking pictures of working HIDs is quite a challenge! On a more personal note, I sympathize with your getting pissed off and wanting to cap the guy. I know I would. But seriously, save your bullets for someone really worth it, okay? |

Hello BravoTwoFour,
What product did use to convert your turn signals into running lights and turn signal combo? I have been waiting for a "Running Light FX kit" from VFX to be available and the company keeps telling it will be available again soon. Back in January, they said it would be available during the upcoming riding season. Yesterday, they told me it will now be next season. It is time for me to find a substitute. |

I really like they way they work; turned out great. I did extra work running new conductors to the rear but then I only needed two resisitors instead of four, and it was essential so the entire side of the bike flashes at once when trun signals on. |

No problem!
The windshield is an Ermax 72 cm (light black), you can find NL distributors here: http://www.ermax.fr/distributors.html I paid 110 EUR (delivered) for mine. Light black is the darkest color and to be honest, if had to do it again, I'd order the slightly lighter tone (light gray). In any case, at night you'll see the road through the windshield, provided you have HID's. The LEDs are super white T10 SMT LEDs. You can find them pretty much anywhere (either online or at auto/bike accessory shops). The SMTs are brighter that normal LEDs, but any small size T10 LED will work. Just make sure they have at least 4 to 6 actual LEDs on the them. Price should be less than 9 EUR for the best kind (SMT) If you drive an MP3 400, you'll need 3: one next to each headlight and one just below the radiator. A word of wisdom however: if you install white LEDs without installing HIDs, the LEDS will make you regular headlights look yellow (which looks like shit if you ask me). Let me know if you have any questions. |

Hey RobertRedCap, I almost forgot...
If you want to LED up you luggage compartment and your license plate, you'll need one or two more of the same type of LED (T10 wedge). MP3 400s with a foot brake need two and I'm pretty sure the regular 400 (no foot pedal) only needs one. Not sure which length however, so you might want to check or ask your mechanic first. WARNING: these mods are for the MP3 400 LT only. I have no idea if they work for the Gilera Fuoco/Piaggio MP3 500. |
