Hi,

I have a 2003 Vespa GT 125. I use currently a Modo Fighter helmet, but this does not fit in the under seat storage compartment

Can anyone confirm to me what helmet DOES fit in there??!!
I have been told the LEM 'Roger', and Diesel 'something or other' helmets do fit?
Can anyone confirm this or in fact any other helemts that do fit as I would like to get rid of the back box storage unit from the scoot as it looks rubbish!

Mate, just us it as storage & forget about putting your helmet in there.
Unless you have a head the size of a peanut they're a waste of time.

Helmets under the seat. <--- click on the link.

you won't have much luck finding a helmet to fit in the underseat storage on the GTS models. that storage compartment is a really silly shape.

This is yet another reason why I don't consider the GT/GTS series an "upgrade" from the LX. My Piaggio Copter helmet fits just fine in the pet carrier of the LX, thank you, and it would be a major convenience downgrade to have a scooter that did not accommodate a decent helmet in the underseat storage.

Please don't re-open the old FF vs. 3/4 helmet debate. I have my own personal reasons why I choose to wear a 3/4... so leave it at that.

thanks fellas for the replies and links.
I guess I am stuck with either that top box rubbish or taking the blody thing with me where ever I go..!
At least I have not wasted any money on another helmet.

Once again, thanks!

i think Tucano Urbano or somebody makes a lockable helmet bag that can be locked to the scooter ... not 100% secure, and i certainly wouldn't trust it in london, but it might be suitable depending on where you are in surrey and what sort of places you're leaving your scooter.

Be wary about locking your helmet to your scoot.

If low down then dogs can pee in it, if high or low drunks can pee in it.

No one messed with my helmet hanging off one of the underseat helmet hooks. I carried a small plastic bag (in the seat cover storage hole) that fit over the helmet in case of rain. I rarely had to use it where I live. I never found a FF helmet that fit under there.

Well, congratulations to you....but my Vespa helmet DOES fit under the seat of my GTS and the UPGRADE of horsepower over my LX is incredible....I would give up the storage space in a New York minute............BUT I DON'T HAVE TO!!!!! Razz emoticon

I wear a Nolan 102 Modular in XS and a HJC FullFace in XXS. Neither fit under the seat of a GTS.

Dazzy90, ..if i where you id keep the under seat storage , just for storage, as it holds a fair bit compared to other scooters......inc the LXV, LX, S, etc.But what i do is slip a spanner, through the D lock on the helmet and hook it onto the stub under the seat........not sure if yours is the same as my gts ??......and if your helmet dos,nt have a D ring thingy, just get a plastic covered chain lock, combination, save having to have keys..etc, Saves carrying it around with you.........mart

If I'm not misremembering, I think I read somewhere that Vespa designed the Vespa helmets to fit under the seats of all their models. I'm more concerned about whether the helmet of my choice fits there. I'd consider it a major convenience handicap not to have that weathertight, secure storage available without a top case.

A little extra room earns bonus points in my book. My LX pet carrier currently holds not only my XL copter helmet, but also gloves, a rain jacket, a small terrycloth towel, a few bungees, and an organizer with pockets containing a tire gauge, flashlight, mini socket set, and a laminated map book... and there is still a little room to spare.
