He was a careless driver but you could totally avoided that whole scenario buy driving defensively. Scooter vs car always ends up with the car winning. And why did you have your video camera on at this exact moment anyway? Are you riding around looking for this stuff?

You were getting passed by cars on both sides. Stay in the right lane and faster cars won't cut you off.

I watched the whole thing again.
Peasap HAD to merge to the right to get to his exchange. He was right in moving to the right. But that looks like an extremely dicey section there. Extreme caution is needed! All in all, you made it but watch out for guys like that again! Maybe cars need proximity sensors that go off if a car comes within an unsafe distance of another vehicle. |

I'm just sayin, riding a motorcycle or scooter on the road (or freeway) carries the risk that a car isn't going to see you. If you want to reduce that risk, drive a car.... A big one... A baywatch yellow one.... The risk will still exist, but will go way down.
If you're going to ride a bike or scoot, deal with it. But don't cry about it when it happens. It happened to me too. In fact, today, as I was getting on the highway... Waaaaaaaaaaaah! That car cut in front of me! And then it was chilly.... Waaaaaaaaaah! I don't mean to be the troll, but come on! |

Not that those in the UK are good at that, they just stick in the middle lane regardless, muppets. Far better on the continent, but beware the sudden cut-in after the overtake. I'm considering making a huge magnet to put on my driver's side door that reads: "Why am I going faster than you in the right lane?" so that those asshats that cruise in the left passing lane might get the idea. |
