Modern Vespa

I have some slight scratches on the black "protector strips" the guard the body on the right hand side. Had a slooooow tip over avoiding a car in the university parking lot. Nobody's fault; just too many vehicles in too small a space at too low a speed. But:

Any thoughts on how to get the scratches out. They are not, repeat not, on the bodywork itself but on the duller black protectors.

If they are on dull black plastic, then very carefully use a hot air gun to remove the scratches by slowly melting them. It does really work. You don't actually want it to get to melting point. Keep the gun moving.

a hair dryer up real close might work too..... ^^^^^good advice up there

I'll have hair dryer in hand tomorrow.
