There should be a place to hang you helmet by the d-rings. it is usually under the seat and when the seat is closed, the helmet is secure (or as secure as it's going to get hanging on the side of the bike). Some have suggested you can rest the helmet on the seat while the rings are secured.

Have fun! Be safe! (I can say this, I am a Dad.)

I'm still trying to figure out how to lock my full-face helmet to the bike since it's too big to fit in the trunk. I don't think I'll be getting a topcase so I'm open to suggestions.
I use this method and it works well enough.

There are two studs under the front of the seat that you can use to lock your helmet if it has a suitable loop or you can put the buckle under the seat....not super secure for lengthy periods but fine to nip into the shop etc....

I got my 300 last Saturday. I had the Faco windscreen installed on Tuesday. Its the midsize and it looks great. It was slightly more expensive than the Prima windscreen, but I think it looked better.
Congrats, PHC1! Do you have pictures to share?
No photos yet. I'll post them this weekend. I've already put 150 miles on it. I've ridden it to work and to court every day this week.

I scored the Costco deal on my GTS 300 (white). Got the card in the mail in about three weeks. I bought a large windshield for my scooter, and I really like it, especially at speed. No grasshoppers knocking a tooth out!

Congrats on your buy. I am sure you will love it.

I kinda like the idea of having the windscreen come all the way down to the handlebars and cover the hands a bit. Is this adjustable?
Jess, that screen is for a Genuine Buddy.

Try looking at these:

Try as I might - I just can't figure out how to add things to my cart on ScooterWorks. Do I have to order by phone or something?

A grin on my face
Lets face it. Is there anything one can do with ones clothes on more fun than riding ones scooter? And if ones scooter is a GTS 300 could there be anything more exciting?

I never have a bad day if it starts and ends on the saddle of one of my scooters.

I just tried as I remember it not being too difficult. After you click on an item, just click on "add to cart". I seem to remember you may have to register before you can check out.

I actually emailed them and they acknowledged there was a problem with the shopping system and they have fixed the issue and now orders can be placed again.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I live in Hillsborough, NJ so I at least get to enjoy driving out to New Hope area and around the farm country roads of Somerset county.

I have a friend that has a house right on Lake Hopatcong, in a town called Landing so I find myself up there on occasion.

As for the Parkway and keeping change on me, I don't think I'll be bringing my Scootie Puff Senior (Futurama reference) anywhere near that deathtrap. Besides, my wife would want to tag along if I was going anywhere the Parkway would take me, and she's 6 mo pregnant, so local driving is all I'm thinking.

Well - and now for the finale! I just went to Honda Sport of Metuchen, NJ and bought the 2010 GTS 300 Super in black (which was in stock). Final price on the ground with a free full-face helmet thrown in was $6300 (which included everything including taxes, title, license, prep, etc) I think that's a reasonable deal but you guys would know better than me.

I'm going to buy all my accessories online since the prices are much better than the dealer can do for me. I am concerned though because he said that Costco cancelled the gift card with purchase and that there was no $500 off MSRP for the 300. Can someone help me decipher if this is true? I paid my deposit and pick it up tomorrow or Thursday, and can still adjust the price if I have proof.

Thanks again for all your help. I can't wait to get it on the road.

Jesse
Jesse sorry for jumping into this late. A while back I was looking to get a Vespa...I decided to go with a motorcycle at this time...but the price you paid was great. I researched and haggled everywhere and your price is great. Congrats and Ride safe.

Hehe - I took it to the movies yesterday to see a matinee of The Informant. About 45 minutes into the movie - I was squirming like I was sitting on a cactus, so I got up to just take a peek at my scoot. Well, once I saw it sitting there, in the bright and sunny parking lot, I said "screw it" to the movie and left. Hopped on the scoot and took a ride along the Millstone River. It was great. A quiet, tree lined, country road with the river to my side. About a million times more enjoyable than that POS movie was.

Tells me everything I need to know about that movie. Save my 7 dollars and put it in my gas tank, it will last a lot longer that way too

I found the movie to be one of the most boring, uninteresting pieces of drivel I've seen in ages. It was so frustrating. Matt Damon played this guy who's whole role in the movie is to constantly reveal more and more information after being prompted. It was like asking your toddler what they did wrong. Every single dialog in the movie was Damon having very forced and frustrating conversation. Not witty banter, not intriguing dialog, not even semi-interesting. Just dialog. Like coffee shop dialog. It almost felt like I was watching a bad soap opera with better camera angles.

Congratulations on your new Vespa, jessenj. Your dealer is running a scooter ride and BBQ tomorrow, Sunday at 9:30AM. I won't be there though, as I'm riding in the Rolling Thunder ride. I know about 10 scooterists who will be at the Metuchen Honda ride. I'm guessing there will be about 15 scooters total. We'll keep a watch out for you.
