I think the performance, sound and looks of the g&g are the best choice

There is apparently a new version of the Leo Vince that has an integrated carbon heat sheild, not sure if there are any internal differences, but worth checking. I just fitted mine but it is the older version. I like it, but it was too quiet with the db plug in, and too loud with it out. A quick bit of work with the dremel and now it is half as long and just right.

Sound, weight and looks. I think the stock exhaust detracts from the overall look of the 500.
Just my opinion. To each his own. |

I don't sit in the blind spot of cars, but was in a multi lane road, about to pass them when they came into my lane. Having the loud pipes still don't mean you can assume the have heard or seen you, but in general people are aware you are there. p.s. I do really love the bup bup bup as well. ![]() //Dennis. |

That G&G does look nice, but the $400 price tag turns me off. I'd get one if the price was competive with the Leo4 road.

Is the G&G a slip-on or full exhaust system?
The LV 4Road is a full system. But on the 500, that header pipe is a b%#$ch to bolt on. And I'm not sure the LV header is all that much larger than stock. And we've all already agreed performance is not the reason we do these things. If the G&G is a slip-on, mounting would be a breeze compared to the LV full system....if that matters to people. |

Sounds great! Nice pics. Have you tried it without the DB Killer? I haven't had the time to test mine without it.

A little deeper sound (especially at idle) but not sure if it is worth the cost for just a slightly different sound. Sound and looks together?...maybe if i had a few extra bucks laying around.

let me tell you guys, the sound is not a little louder but a lot and a lot deeper. Maybe the deep (bass) sounds dont record as good
I didnt remove the db killer cos it was loud enough, if i turn open the gas its loud, i only made 3000rpm while shouting the vid. I can remove the dbk but is has some welding ()did i spell that correct points: three. First i have to break those to take out the dbk. |

Weight is a big difference between stock and G&G. I can't speak for the 4 Road, but the G&G is 2-3 times less weight than the stock exhaust.
After I installed the new exhaust the dealer gave me the old one to take home. I couldn't believe how much it weighed. Talk about a boat anchor... |

Gotta ask
Given the brains adjust the fuel mix - is there any reason you can't play with different "mufflers" on our bikes? Used to be a lot of what we called "resonators" were available for the likes of MG's, Fiats, etc. Their whole purpose was throaty sound. Anyone remember "Cherry Bombs"? Hush Thrush?
It'd be a piece of cake to bolt on a cherry bomb - any practical reason why not? Jon |
