Currently searching for the colour code on my PX200, so that I can repaint the front mudguard and cowl sections recently repaired.

Is there a colour code anywhere on the bike, and, if so, where is it? I've so far had a pretty detailed look, but to no avail. Local dealer reckons paint codes aren't always available.

I know that it's not Midnight Blue Met, after checking a test card earlier today. Slightly more purple in colour.

Cheers,

Drew

I could colour scan it myself, but what I'm after is a factory code and formulation if at all possible. Piaggio colours are listed with most of the systems I use - BASF, DeBeers, PPG, Standox, DuPont and Spies Hecker. Most of Piaggio's colours cross reference to car colours offered by Daewoo, Suzuki and Peugeot.

One Vespa I looked at recently ahd the colour code label located under the rear seat, but I can't seem to find one on this PX200.

Success at last!

Since there was no colour code on the frame, verified by the dealer, I scanned the colour and cross referenced the formula against Piaggio colours in Dupont's system. Found a match with Blue Reale Metallic, code 221.

Now the easy job of applying the final coats and she's done!

All done, just have to reassemble and replave the fork assembly and she's ready for the road again.
