1k is a sweet deal on that scoot...shipping for me would be way too much though. Anyone in that area should pick that thing up.

if you do want that bike, find out what is missing. the tail light (the correct tail light) alone is quite spendy (redonkulous!). the main lens is 50$, the two other reflectors are very hard to find. the missing pieces can nickel and dime you to death. the main issue with that bike would be that stripping, bodywork (you can see a lot of rust on the floorboards), paint and buying whatever bits are worn to the point you cannot reuse them may add up to far more than that bike could fetch on todays market.

I am going to email the guy tonight and get the low down. I understand that parts are fairly readily accessible for Allstate smallies in the model years after 1960? correct?

I know it probably isn't cost efficient but I am looking for a small vintage bike to cruise around campus and town on. I already have my GT for commuting to downtown and bigger rides...

I am cautious on this bike with the replacement motor and other things that have been tinkered with. Maybe he screwed it up and doesn't want to deal with it anymore?

Smallies are fairly cheap. I think I'll pass on this one if the guy doesn't want to cough up info.

if you are working steady and not in any hurry to get into a bike, i would wait for something roadworthy. a few hundred more dollars would be so well spent. there was an amazing orange primavera a while back, but it was WAY overpriced. a nicer smallframe will show up. pazienza.

though... some of it's parts are V90-ish and some are primavera-ish.

It's taillight is unique to it and 2 other US-spec models ( '66 SS180 and '66 allstate sprint )
