Any Brembo brake owners want to tell us if the investment has been worth it? Please tell us how long you have had the brakes on your scooter and what kind of performance increase they are providing you with. I am very interested in getting more brake power out of my GTS250 and am thinking the Brembo's may be the answer.

Paul, "thanks" so very much for that oh-so-useful post.
175mws, sure you can ask why Br-E-mbo brakes are desired over my factory ones. I just like a much more positive feel to my brakes and feel that the factory ones feel a bit mushy. Now, I do ride MTB bikes and race Triathlons and Road bikes, so I am a bit used to grabby brakes. I also have numerous off-road 2 wheelers that have very firm brakes. It is just style and what you are used to I guess. Each to their own. |

Ok, I'm back to normal now. Here's the scoop on Brembo brakes. It's all about progressive operation, control and feel.
Although I have stock brakes on my Vespa, I've had Brembos on 2 different BMW motorcycles and on my wife's car. On every application the Brembos offered great feel, feedback and control. They are not a necessity, but if you have the money and inclination, you will get a world-class product. P. |

I'm interested in the Brembo kit because I've boiled the brake fluid on my GTS 250 before. Yes, I was riding it hard... the term 'flogging' comes to mind. It's a really bad feeling to be going downhill into a turn, then when you grab the brake lever, it goes all the way to the handgrip!
The Brembo kit has a much larger caliper with bigger pads and it also uses more surface area of the disk, so it should provide a lot more stopping power while generating less heat. I gotta save my pennies, but hopefully I'll pick one up sometime this fall. |

Got one...
5 K miles or so. NO DOWNSIDE found. Saved me from collision on at least one occasion. IMHO, a must have for spirited riding. R 8)

You probably are aware of that, but I'd sure change my brake fluid if I experienced what you describe. You probably did after having that happen. Aw, crap. I feel like I'm stating the obvious to you, no offense meant. If you ride that hard maybe you need the Brembos. cheers |

Brembo front and move stock front brake to rear brake.
Hi,
I plan to buy the brembo kit for my GTS for the front, and move the stock front brake to the rear. Has anyone done this? Would love to hear from you. Cheers, |
