Just thought I'd pop up a quick iPhone shot of my latest toy, an Aprilia Mojito Custom 150. Very happy with the ride and engine (leader). Only downside, very funky rear tire size that makes the Continental Zippy about the only choice (nice tire thank god).

Some call this thing the "Harley of Scooters" (Harley owners, that's your cue to roll your eyes and mouth vomit) due to the seating position, bar angle and loads of chrome. It definitely is a different little beast to ride and when blinged out it's quite a sight.

Being as Vespa and Aprilia are Piaggio cousins I thought I'd introduce you all to Giancarlo. I have a sport windscreen and some other goodies on order and I'll pop up another pic when he's all dressed up.

Nice looking scoot... once you get used to it, you will have to push it a bit to give us some of it's details... top end, mpg, it's 0-60 time, ya know stuff like that. Razz emoticon Some close ups would not hurt either... I am curious of the view of the handlebars, and instrument cluster arrangement.

Yours looks sweet man! Did you remove those orange light or reflector things or something? Your bike looks all black.
I'm on the verge of getting one, and I'd really like some thoughts from (albeit a new) Mojito rider.

Yup, the front DOT turn signals are gone, using the integrated euro blinkers. Rear is modified a bit as well, I believe from stock.

I will take a few pics with my "real camera" this weekend once the sport windshield is in place. I'll also pop up some performance stats once I get a chance to flog it a bit.

Yup, same leader engine as the lx150. You can find them between $2100 and $2800. There's actually two sweet blue and white ones I was looking at, one in Santa Cruz and one near Boston. Check out CL for details.

I'm looking forward to providing some more in depth riding info once I pop some moe miles on it. So far I couldn't be happier with it.

Enjoying it?

OldGuysRule- A quick question. I have been looking for the "conversion kits" for the rear lights. Do you remember where you found them (looks great!).

Kent,
That's a beautiful scooter, congratulations. There's one in Tampa, that's black, chromed out, and bored out to a 170cc, and is pretty fast. It's pretty, too. Those are the only two black scooters I like.

Thanks Nickie. I am going to get a 190cc Malossi kit on there when I have a chance. I'm first getting some chrome going and a few other bits to make it feel like my own

Purchase a used set on UK EBay. It is a great source for parts. The Mojito is also called a "Habana" in Europe. The 125cc also shares the same body work as the 150cc US model. Take care,

Mojito Custom 150
Kdemas, I'm new to this forum but have a Mojito Custom 150 as well. Have you done the 190 cc convert yet? If so, how's it run? Have you looked into any exhaust upgrades? I've had mine since Sept 09. Bought it off craiglist in Phoenix. Runs great. Surprisingly fast and stable. Having a hard time finding parts and upgrades though.

Nice scoot.

can't wait 4 more pics. If mojito's were still available new I might have bought one instead of my s150. Used one's are impossible to find in west TX. I imagine w/the leader 150 it specs out about the same as an LX or S. I've always liked the mojito styling over the Lance vintage, TNG lowboy or honda joker. I really wish aprilia would bring them back.

The Mojito is an Aprilia, not a Vespa. In some contries it was called the Habana. I have heard that they are fairly slow for a 150, but I haven't ridden one myself. They sure do look neat, though. Pity they discontinued it.

Absolutely love the mojito! Almost bought a new one in 2007 while looking at and (then buying) my MP3. Still wish they were making them! Congrats kdemas on finding a beauty!

Nicki....you said a black one is being sold in Tampa? Is it listed on CL? Have you seen the white? It's stunning and harder to find (so I've been told)

Congrats on your new scoot, it´s a beauty.

I have the predecessor of your scoot, the Aprilia Habana 50 cc. It´s a beautifull scoot but the engine on my model is really crappy. I hab nothing but griefs with that one. The engine on your Mojito is much better, I belive.

I actually haven't had a chance to do the 190cc conversion yet, looking forward to it though. Just went for a nice 150 mile ride the other day and I could have used that extra "oomph" on a few of the hills. Given the load this thing is dragging around (that would be me) it actually is pretty strong.

My next upgrade is actually a quick tire change, from the stock Sava's to some Schwalbe Racemen's. They have a super speed rating for that tiny little 10" rear tire

AF1 is great for parts... bought my wind screen there.

I always loved the styling of the Mojito (and Honda Joker). I like the horizontal lines rather than the "nose-dive" line of most T&G scooters.

Only one thing. It needs tassles on the ends of the handlebars!

Mike,

You're going to laugh. One of the Mojito's I was looking at in fact had a beautiful custom leather seat... with leather fringe! The style of the bike does lend itself to some bling.

I have one other mod I'm doing that will give it a little "something" but I don't want to spill the beans before it's actually been done.

Funny you mention the Joker, I had no idea Honda made that bike and the pretty startling resemblance the Mojito has to it. Obviously we know where Aprilia got the inspiration for the bike.
