My dilemma is probably obvious from the pic.

Out of beer and the scoot is 200m shy of the 12k service.
The nearest beer is a 3km round trip.

DO I RISK SNAPPED BELT, BENT VALVES, WOBLY ROLLERS ETC FOR SOME SWEET BELGIAN GOODNESS?

Advice please.

don't just say beer to a Leffe

go for the Leffe, if you break down on the way back, you'll have an excuse to drink the hole six-pack, it would be a terrible waste to let those puppies get hot

Be sure to get Leffe Triple, so you only need one sixpack to get really wasted

Don't risk it!
Walk and buy 2 six-packs, one to drink on the way home.

Have fun and good luck!

ride the scoot. please take alot of tie downs with you so you can stack cases. You have a service to provide to your scoot when you get home and going empty again whilst changing the oil could be devastating.

I currently have 9,300 or so on my original LX150 belt, and am getting ready to change it out. But what I found digging through the confusing maintenance charts is that you should change the rollers at th 6,000 mile service and the belt at 8,000 miles.... Another place says to change both at 7,400 miles.. So I am keeping an eye on the belt and riding anyway. But I can tell the rollers really want to be changed a few thousand miles ago.

Take your scoot - beer wins every time. Although I can walk around 1km in 15mins (give or take) so it would not take too long and you should get a couple of travellers on the way. Like my old man used to say "If you can drink it, you can carry it"

What's all this talk of 6 packs, 6 will just make you more thirsty. Go for a slab

There was an Italian restaurant in the alley behind us that had $1 drafts every Wednesday all night. They had Leffe on tap for $1.00! I was in heaven until they went out of business. Didn't take long as you can imagine.

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestion.

What are my chances of doing a proper service after drinking a 4 pack (yeah, no 6 packs here) of Leffe?

Medium to good I'd say. If on your own time, no sweat.

I do suggest that a tea-break in the middle would be beneficial though - amazing how that can buck one up. Doesn't spoil the beer, honest!

Ok, lots of pissing around but I finally got around to it.

Belt looked pretty much fine.
No huge flat spots on the rollers but looks like I put half of them in backwards at the 6k check, see the scuffing on the metal faces!

Bike seems a little smoother at takeoff, nothing significant.
