One way of looking at this campaign is Buell is giving the finger to all the people he suckered into buying the Blast.
I wouldn't be happy if I was a Buell Blast owner. It also does them no favours if they want to sell their bikes...

My wife and I learned on one of those. I can't imagine riding one for any distance.

Yea, I don't get it. Are they saying they sold a shitty bike to suckers? That would turn me off of their current lineup if I was a prospective customer.

I saw this yesterday as well. Didn't really think it was great marketing but didn't surprise me coming from H-D.

Well as stated by As Erik Buell "the Blast is an anachronism with no evident link to the rest of Buell's range"

There was a write up on Hell for Leather back in July.

According to Hell for Leather the official word from Buell is: "The Blast will continue to be produced in MY2010 primarily for the purposes of supporting the Harley-Davidson Rider's Edge training program. These motorcycles will be branded Blast, with primary Buell badging removed."

The sad thing is there was a company Mac Motorcycles that was planning on making some cool looking cafe style bikes based on the Blast motor.

Word is Mac Motorcycles is looking at the engine from the Yamaha XT660Z.
