Do any of you gts owners in the states know of any where i could get a used speedo(digital type for 250 )and maybe get it sent to me in the uk.. obviously i will pay all costs.. It dosen't matter if it's broke or dosen't work as i'm only after the speedo inlay so i can have my MPH on the ouside of the dial..like yours!!!! I persume i'm right in saying this??

It won't be accurate anyway - far better to do the 'tape' thing discreetly to your own speedo at the 'necessary' (GPS or otherwise verified - I use a cycle computer) speeds. Much easier to get the speed right near cameras when it's dark as well.

why wouldn't it be accurate as the inlay would go back in the same place and the needle will still go to the same point on the dial but the mph will be in the bold print on the outside.. or am i wrong.. + I dont really want to have other gadgets near the handlebars unless i really have to!!

There was a guy in the For Sale Section that is parting out a GTS take a look in there.

The speedos are inherently at least 5% inaccurate (optimistic on speed) - and on both my GP800 and Fuoco over 10%.

They are deliberately designed to be thus. So thwart this subterfuge, and mark your current dial with the *real* speeds.

Like this (Fuoco) - the tapes are the 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 true marks. Note that 80 on the speedo is only just 70mph in reality:

I know the speeds are out as when i run the tomtom on it it's about 8-10 mph out up around the 80 mph mark..But i only wanted the usa dial just for looks as i didn't want to put all marks on my dial..It's really just a cosmetic thing or maybe i'm just being a bit anul !!!

Better to actually know your speed with a very cheap removable device than not know it.
