Do you get a lot of scooter thefts where you are? No one seems to bother my 500. Maybe because I always leave the handlebars locked with the parking brake engaged. It's about a 600 brick in that situation. It would take a wrecker to move it and how big a market is there for a used MP3? For the money I think you get a lot more with a Stebel horn, a J Costam, and a Throttlemeister. Those things are used regularly if you travel and would cost about the same. Besides, my insurance covers theft.

+1 . . . it would take at least 2 body builders to make a quick get-away with an MP3 compared to the smaller engine size scoots. I also agree with Jerry that unless you live in a really bad neighborhood or you frequently park your scoot long term away from public view, I would rather invest the $ in getting a J Costa, HiT Clutch, or the new MARINE graphic helmet soon to come out.

Weight will not always help. In England I have heard that where the bike is heavy they use 4 guys and a couple of pieces of wood or steel pipe. They put them through the front and back wheels and a guy on each side of them lifts.

With the MP3 I rely on it not being an attractive target for thieves.

For some reason when I picture 4 Australian blokes with steel pipes and wood pieces lifting an mp3 500, I hear the words from a Foster's beer commercial: "Scooter Lift" (as in this is the Australian version of such).

MP3 thieves will be easy to find. look for a pair of buddies with hernia's.
