Modern Vespa

I am at a loss. I am running Firefox and Windows XP.

Now and then, when I am typing, some key or keys I hit will put me right back on the desktop. I lose everything I have written.

This happens in Word or on a forum. I was just on a forum typing a very lengthy post only to see the browser close and the desktop stare me in the face. I don't know what key(s) do this. It is so aggravating I could scream!

Any ideas on how to prevent this or how to retrieve the lost work?

FireFox - Ctrl + w buttons shut the window/tab

Alt + F4 shuts a windows programme down.

If you click on File, Edit and other menu items, theres a list of key combinations next to menu items

ps: I like keyboard short cuts.

I have had that happen even when I'm on this site.
Before I post I copy my post before sending it, that
way if it goes someplace other than posting I go
back and Paste and try posting again. Firefox
gave me so many problems that I quit using it,
Now I use IE only. 8)

Are your updates current on firefox? I find mine acts squirrely when there is an update and goes back to normal once installed.
