Does anybody else have a problem with fog inside the frontlights?

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text
It seems to be a larger amount of fog in the left light. I´m guessing it´s because the left side is the head light and isn´t used as often as the right light. But as yuo can see there is a small amount of fog on the right side too.

Is this a common problem? Where does the fog come from? I checked the glass carefully and couldnt find any cracks on it.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Could this be harmfull for the wiring?

This will happen to some extent on all bikes. Yours looks more than most, but if it had previously been in a warm atmosphere and it is now a lot colder, that would explain it to some extent.

You can clear it by taking out the headlight unit, and removing the lamps. Leave the unit in a cool dry place overnight and the condensation should evaporate. Then make sure the rear lamp covers are properly in place on re-installing.

Just like JJMC said, this will happen on pretty much any bike subjected to important temperature changes because the headlight compartments aren't sealed, allowing humidity to penetrate, thus causing condensation.

Want a bike with sealed headlights? Buy a BMW.

Keep in mind that quality wise, Piaggio is to bikes what Fiat is to cars, so this is not surprising, just as it isn't surprising that the screws holding the fairing/dashboard in place will start rusting within 6 month of purchase.

Seriously, the MP3 is a good bike, but the details and finish are crap.

Thats new info for me, i thought that Piaggio ment good guality. But fair enough, I only owned the bike for some days, maybe I´ll agree with you in a couple of months.

I did some thorough research before buying the MP3, and I only read good opinions about it.

Rusty body-work screws are a Piaggio speciality it seems. Easily and very cheaply replaced with better quality ones though, so no sweat.

You may find the problem is minimised if you leave the bike outside all the time rather than garaging, as otherwise your lights will be having big and sudden changes in temperature and humidity.
