Anyone know of any available horn for a 74 Rally 200 Im restoring? I dont know bumkiss about electronics so Im assuming, since it was a battery bike before, and 6 volt, it was a DC horn originally? Now I have had it converted to 12 volt so Im again assuming its AC now??

Any advice would be appreciated. Too bad really because the original horn was quite loud.

I'm still using the same 6v horn now I've converted to 12v (non battery).
That said, it does sound like a gay squeezy toy, so I avoid using it, I just shout, nod, wink.........or hoof car doors in with my feet.

Well..that all depends.

Did you just put 12v coils in the stator, or did you switch it out entirely for a new stator / flywheel combo that is a 12v ducati-based electronic ignition kit?

Either way, you're likely running a new regulator / rectifier since the original was 6v.

Are you still running a battery ?

Rick-
If you have converted to a 12v system and you are using a battery, then you are looking for a DC horn. I ran into the same trouble as you when I did the same, here's my solution...

I went custom because I was tired of the whimpy stock horn sound. I bought a Wolo horn from amazon, you can find them everywhere. You can get them for cheaper.

I dissassembled it, took out the guts and slapped it into the stock cover plate and somehow secured it with screws. It took 15 minutes and a little trickery because it was shorting out on me.

Loud and cheap, sounds like someone I would hate, but its a solid horn.
