I had a bronze sleeve put into the exhaust system because the soft gaskets kept falling apart. Has anyone else done this modifacation? It cut the sound down to nothing at all and I have the stock muffler still on. I have heard other scooters with there LOUD exhaust and it sounds UGLY. Not what a cute scooter is to sound like, get a HARLEY if you want to sound ugly, just my thoughts.

3 years, 15,000 miles since I installed mine... not a problem. No recurrence of the issue.

This is one of the main reasons that we hear so much about the Leo Vince pipes breaking headers on GT/S/V etc. The Leo pipe uses no bushing at all, allowing for no flex. The brass bushing achieves the same effect but uses the larger diameter of the stock pipe. I'd rather replace a $30 graphite bushing every 10k miles or so, rather than deal with broken/sheared studs or cracked headers. Just my two cents. |

Drew and Jimc how often have you heard/seen this?
How many owners here use the Scooter Amore brass fitting? Have you had problems? I'm using a made up one and would like the full story. Those graphite thingies cost $80NZ and thats a lot every tyre change. Or is it hamfisted spannerwork when refitting that hurts those studs? The amount of "play" would surely be minimal even with the graphite one? Thanks for help. |

Many have no trouble with the bushing, some do. If your stud breaks, expect a $600+ repair.
The stupid exhaust is a major defect of the GTS, had I known about it before I bought the bike, I wouldn't have (bought the bike). Now I'm stuck with it. Too bad; I can't think of anything else to complain about on my GTS, but this is major. Good luck, I hope you're one of the lucky ones. I wasn't. P. |
