Looking into the looping air breather bypass idea, mentioned on the forum past. My present OEM hose has an "inverted V shape", but turned at side angle, of 3 or 9 o clock position. Wondering if this should be the "UP"( 12 o clock position ), to create a hill effect; before making a loop change out modification. Collecting enough oil, in the air drain tubes, about every two weeks to drain. Credit to the originator, who stated the looping hose he used was a "Checker Auto part S63017". (about $10) But they are west coast people. Found an equal shaped hose, 5/8" by "autozone heater hose #010279 M-4350", at about $7 bucks more. Figure the shipping became a wash over the price. Has about a 4 inch loop, just need to find time now to do it.

If your asking if you ought to turn your OEM hose before installing the loop, I would just go ahead and put the loop in. I tried all angles with the OEM and oil still found its way into the air filter. Since the loop, I haven't found a drop. Well, maybe one little drop but barely.

Yes I was wondering if the "inverted v" was a factory modification later, or original. Now to cut, or grind off the oem clamps! If I can spread the clamp, it may slide off. Just a challange to! Thanks. Was wondering how often other people have to drain the lines also from the air filter? Mine seems to be about every 300-400 miles.

Er - never, except for a clean-up of everything at normal service time (every 6250 miles).

Installed the looping hose, and mild highway driving at around 65-75 for 60 miles, no oil. Return trip, pushed it up to about 80 mph, now back bulb has some oil in it.

You will have to clean your air filter as it will still hold excess oil in it's foam even though you've dumped it from the tube.. Once its clean, you shouldn't have a problem.

I don't have the problem of oil in my little bulb. I do take out my air filter every 2k iles and clean it then reoil it with some ol dirt bike foam air filter oil I still have from my dirt bike days. leaves a nice tackyness to the filter and traps dust big time. it was made by twin air the oil btw
