If you have other things that you insure (car? home? ....) you might just go to them. That is often the painless way to go both in price and hassle factor.

Like A Good Neighbor
Well,
I would try State Farm. They write my houses, my cars and my scooters. I think you would find them reasonable. |

Yeah. That's what I figured. I just wasn't sure if they had any collectable insurance for scooters.

I just bought a policy from State Farm last week. It was very reasonable, given I have my house and cars with them.

Yeah, I got a rate from progressive and it was around $260/year and that was for the highest coverage in everything and all the frills.

I've been with AAA for years. Never had any vehicle related claims, but they paid quick and without any hassle with a homeowner's claim a few years back. I don't have any complaints about their customer service, either.
I agree with the others ... it's more convenient to have all your policies with one company (usually cheaper, too). |

I've had Safeco (which I think now is Liberty Mutual) for years. I actually just had to file a scooter claim with them over a tipped over scooter and they were great to deal with.
But, I'd second what other's have said. If you have an auto policy somewhere else I'd ask that agent. You'll probably get a break on your premium. |

Multiple Lines
Insurers generally discount policies if one carries multiple policies and multiple lines with that insurer. If one insures multiple vehicles, a home or apartment with that insurer the price will be lower than if one just insured one vehicle.
Some insurers I'm told further discount the policy if you have passed the MSF basic rider's course. State Farm does not in California and I suspect it does not anywhere else. |

Just got my new scoot insured w/ Geico (I already have an auto policy with them). $260/year, for liability + comprehensive...I live in Arizona and I've never ridden a motorcycle before, so I think experience has a bearing on your cost.
