I've recently noticed that my LX-150 is beginning to lurch. By that, I mean that I can give it a little throttle from a stop, and it moves at a low, but appropriate speed. A little more throttle, I can hear the engine run harder, but the scooter keeps the same low speed for a few moments before lurching forward at a much faster velocity. It almost feels as if I shifted down a gear (if it was a manual). After that initial lurch, it handles and accelerates as normal (seems appropriately responsive to the throttle) - until I have to start from a stop again.

11,000 km on the belt and original rollers (due to be changed soon). Would flat spots on the rollers cause this, or is another problem indicated?

I appreciate the help that I receive from you guys!

I hope you find the answer so you can ride it. I know you put a lot of

miles on yours. Good luck and let us LX riders know.

Thanks, Paul. I still ride it. I'd just like to discover if I need to check for more than the rollers (and belt, since it is near due anyways). I actually don't put too many kilometers on the bike compared to some others - only about 3000 per season.

Michael, I think it certainly could be the rollers getting flat. When they do that, it almost can feel like a sling shot when you speed up rather than smooth acceleration.

Almost certainly it's down to worn rollers.

In addition to the worn rollers, you could have a wealth of clutch dust built up in the housing, causing it to slip intermittently on acceleration from a stop.

that is what my rollars did to my bike, it also sounds like a bunch of hard plastic bouncing around in a can, then the scoot takes off quickly. that was because my rollers were warn and also started at about the same Kilometers you have your bike at.

As well as the rollers, the variator surface can get a groove made by the belt. I may change the variator in mine soon, for another standard one as it had 13000 miles on it.
