Well, if painting your scoot a non stock color is pimping then I'll submit this for concideration.

Is that a on your helmet, or are you just really happy with that awesome color scheme??

That would be yes on both counts. Not sure which generates more stares, waves, pointing and laughing, but certianly a good combination to have the lego visor while riding a three wheeel scooter

While not "my" MP3, I saw this at my local dealer the other day and had to share some pics.

That is pretty epic. Looks like the owner has hand painted his MP3. I would love to know the significance of the "dude" on the windshield. I wonder if it has some sort of reference to the name the owner gave the Fuoco?

Whoa, that paint job is... hideous. First glance it looks like Disney threw up on that poor Mp3, and somebody on drugs fingerpainted pictures into it. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I wonder how many beholders are gonna want to have to look at it, let alone look at it routinely... besides the one, anyway.

While looking on all those cool alternations (Help me out here if "alternations" isn´t the correct word) it comes to me that it doesn`t matther how much money you plan on spending. A small alternation like jaredmorgsreflecting checkers looks fantastic and im really thinking about doing something similar (Don´t worry I woun`t copy you)

On the other hand we have large alternations like the pshycadelic-painted MP3 500, and somewere in the middle the cute green one.

Anyhow, its cool that you people do those things, and its generous of you that you take the time to share your creations with us. Keep sending pictures, maybe we can vote the forums coolest MP3 by the end of the year or something.

It's true. You can do something as simple as putting "stickers" on your bike (my wife calls them stickers ), or taking off your panels and doing a custom paint job. It all comes down to what you want *your* bike to look like.

Scooters have traditionally been known to express a lot about their owner. Just look at the Mod scene, and how owners have pimped their rides.

I personally think it is important to reflect your personality through your scooter.

If you like the chequer decals, you can get them from scooterwest. They are designed for helmets, but work equally well on fairings.

Oh my goodness - how fabulous is that!!! I have a sort of split personality. There is the normal me that isn't very girly and very much a mom - then there is my elementary school librarian self who is, ummmm, more out there. My kids at school love to see my helmet, sit on my bike, etc (insurance issues in this country, I would NEVER open myself to the liability of riding them around. I do ride my nephews and nieces). The jewels would absolutely send my little girls over the moon. And the coordinating helmet . . . . my oh my.

sst - you said that about not liking the word "pimping". My 14yo son was using the word with NO idea what it really meant - we had to have a discussion.

Fay, it´s people like you that makes scootering interesting.

It's all very 'non invasive' the plastic rhinestones are very inexpensive, I'm sure any Michaels has them. stick them on with double sided foam tape car body mouldings from 3M or similar. Spend a few evenings in front of the telly with a craft knife sticking them to the tape and cutting round them. Take them out to the garage and have a happy couple of hours sticking them on. Don't like it or want to sell the scoot. A can of lighter fluid and they're history. Buy a few spares, I lose two or three a month. The whole job costs maybe $40 bucks.

I call it the hopscotch theory.

Boys don't understand hopscotch. They play rough and the girls exclude them often by playing arcane and inaccessible games. Faced with an impenetrable concept, the boys close ranks and form their own impenetrable games and gangs excluding the girls. They then 'talk up their part' with much of the other stuff they do. Performing magic (conjuring tricks) for instance is really very easy, they will tell you it is hard. Similarly body work repairs are just a matter of following the recipe. I was looking at a 'girlie' screwdriver this afternoon, flowery painted handle. The tool was probably very inferior, a 'girl' will try to use it, burr the screw or break the bit, decide that fixing things is not for her and call in a man to do the job.

Things were put together by a person with eight fingers and two thumbs and a brain not unlike ours. Can we fix it? Yes we can!

Jared - you were too kind not saying the obvious - so I will .
That is the most butt-ugly bike I've seen to date. Seriously.

You will note, that while I provided those pics I did not share my comments on it to avoid any contamination of honest feedback. In person it was hideous and well done at the same time. Someone obviously put a lot of effort into it. Even the top case had a matching paint job going around the middle of it. But it screams out WHY. I don't know. I thought maybe I just don't get "art".

In England, but what do we know we only invented the language, the R and D has been done by others; we referred to such adjustments as 'Customizing.' We have an annual 'Custom car show'. Pimping is another import. Not popular here.

I have always thought that to "pimp" something was to make it more garish, loud, and just a little ridiculous looking. Some of the mods achieve this, others improve on the looks, and some seem to suit the individual.
Fay, yours is an example of unusual, but tastefully done. I like it.

I found a MP3 on the net with very, very cool stickers. I hope that the guy that owns the bike don´t mind that i put up the pictures here, if thats the case I will remove them at once, just PM me.





Does anybody know were to get such stickers? They are soooooo cool and I would order them at once. I wonder if the are specially made for that MP3 or if they can be bought in some store. I would replace the flowers on the side with a small pin up girl (WWII bomder style)

BTW, my suggestion toward new word for modded out is "MPimped out"(pronounced M, Pee, "iiimped" out)

We used to just say 'custom'... or 'customized'...
Or even 'tricked out'...

Personally I don't like 'pimped', it comes off as vulgar regardless of current vernacular. Reckon I'll stick with what works best for me, as will others.

We call it 'Customizing'. it becomes customizing, we keep using the 'P' word, it reinforces it's use.

Well here is my Piaggio FP3 LT 460 ie
The F stands for Gilera Fuoco because i changed the front
the 460cc is of the Piaggio X9 Evo (Cylinder and Piston)

and i started with this

yes but you have to replace the sub-frame behind the radiator and brakepump, it takes about 8 hours work to complet the change this is without painting the covers and it will cost about 700 to 750 euro including the Xenon light

the frame on the outside cost 160, - prices all in euro's
the sub-frame 80,-
headlight per unit 86,-
side covers 40,-
the headlightunit cover 90,-
The middle cover ( that i painte silver) 25,-
Badges and stuff 25,-
Paint about 200+ euro
windscreen / deflector 15,-
screws and bolts and other stuf about 20,-



The old sub-frame is laying on the righthand site

and i'm not finished the 2 mudguards in the front are being painted Black metalic as we speak and i will install a mudguard at the back, that will be painted Silver
