hmmmm do you have a different airbox???
the hose/pipe my mechanic toke out is the air intake restrictor, it sits in the airbox cover and lets the air in to the airbox so if yours goes past the filter all the air goes past even with the pipe ![]() |

PICTURES IN NEXT POST. Please verify if I am correct. I would hate for you to ruin the beautiful 460cc engine you have created. If there is an error in my logic feel free to correct me. I have reviewed it with two other forum members and looked at it with my mechanic yesterday. He was ready to remove it with me until we looked closer at the air path. ⚠️ Last edited by Fuzzy on UTC; edited 2 times

CORRECTION
I had the air flow backwards in previous post but concern remains the same. Air comes into the filter through the removed hose as Maxor stated but the hose takes it through the plenum with clean air going towards the engine. ![]() Filter cover removed. Subjest hose to left going behind filter to dirty side.
![]() Close up of subjet hose.
![]() Filter cover with filter in place.
![]() Air box with cover and filter removed. Holes in wall let air from filter into plenum towards engine.
![]() Another angle. Hole to back left is air going to engine.

if its a concern, you can tape that part inside of it will get still more air in then but i've got no problems with it like it is now

Maxsor my concern is for your machine, not mine as I did not remove the hose. Either I am missing something or I am not communicating well. I believe with the hose removed you are bypassing the filter and will ruin your engine.
Someone else step in here and help either point out my error or help in the communication. |

Fuzzy it spot on with his findings. If you remove the air inlet hose your are bypassing the filter period. it would be the same as removing the whole air box and just let the air in thru the #8 hose/tube. You are taking huge risks by not filtering the inlet air to the scoot's intake. please reassess this mod.

I agree with Fuzzy's last conclusion. Removing the little tube will completely bypass the filter.

Maksor wrote: i talked to my mechanic and he said that there is an other filter in the hose/pipe near the inlet of the engine it can't harm my engine i don't know if he put in there or if its stock Your description indicates to me there is a filter inside the pipe. If so it is only a fraction of the cross section area of the OEM filter and would need to be cleaned very often like every other tank of gas. I am skeptical a filter with a cross section of a few centimeters would be able to filter dust and not restrict air flow. If you can do so without risking your relationship with the mechanic I recommend asking to see the filter. |

@OAD its a extremely load i'm not sure i will keep it. the sound the filter makes is louder then the exhaust and that one was all ready loud
But it Runs great now Did some autobahn today and i need an other speedo this one stops at 180km and it is faster now ![]() ![]() i've ordered a RC-9720 and that one is a Ovale Filter with a pipe Ø 85 by 65mm made a pipe of PVC 4cm long and shaped it to the 85 by 65mm with a paintstripper the other end is 60mm jimc you got a GP800 will that unit work on a MP3 ???? edit : my rpm figures with the speed on the speedo and a tip from my mechanic if you want pulling power in the lower RPM's leaf the original hose as it is fit the Filter to the hose If you want pulling power in the higher RPM's fit the filter to the throttle body with out the hose 100 km = 5000 RPM 130km is 6000 RPM 150km is 7000 RPM 170km is allmost 8000 rpm my limiter kicks in at 9000 RPM ![]() i can reach those speeds because i fitted a 150/70/14 rear and the 17 gram DR-P's and the K&N |

Increasingly fed up with 'helpful' people telling me I have a headlight out, and the general lack of symmetry is causing me deep personal offence. I am getting ready to attempt The Nico Conversion. I want two dipped headlights and then two main-beam headlights controlled by the normal switches
Is it possible to assemble the necessary parts and then make it 'plug and play', perhaps passing my headlight unit on to the next person who wants to do the same. I suppose for that we would need a parts list, and a reference back to the very clear instructions elsewhere in this forum, 4 Headlights in a 400 unit. Love this thread. Fay |

fay did you only take out the light unit or did you toke it apart also?
first buy these lights or same kind http://www.optitune.nl/koplamp-twin-90mm-chroom-p-11350.html?cPath=710_3_24 ![]() take the rear of so your left with the chromering, reflector and glass, you see a lip that's your mounting point with a small knife or screwdrive you can open the unit, the inner housing with the glass clicks in the under housing its sealed by a rubberseal you don't have to cut in to it iff you done that, draw lines along the stock reflectors as a reference / guideline remove the stock reflectors Drill a whole ![]() and bolt the new lights in bend them a littlebit, so they are on the lines that you drawed in the housing and they are set at the right hight and angle Reconnect the wires and you can putt it back together again |

I have done nothing yet, but I now know myself well enough to know that it will take me a long time.
So, Ideally I want to buy all the spares, build the unit, and then take out the old unit putting the new one straight in. Leaving me with a spare unit to pass on to the next person who wants to do the same. QED................, W,ABED (QED Quite Easily Done) (W,ABED Well, A Bit Easily Done.) fay |

Maksor wrote: if you got the money buy a spare light unit amd pley with that one Question is, can we (ahem, you) create a parts list of the things I should order before starting. We have the photographs on the forum and they will be a big help. But questions remain. Do I understand that there are two different light units, the original and the one from the new Mp3400 which is shinier. Are they interchangeable and which looks better? Then I have to get..... "1 H4 and 1 H7 in the netherlands officialy you have to fit them a motorcycle isn't aloud to have 2 highbeams here But i've ordered the 2× H4 type"..........? Then:- "Have to make 3 brackets to fit them and then they will be adjustable" Presumably a fabrication job from sheet acrylic and plastic weld.....? Ooooops looks like you are already on the case......Might have to edit this out. right, found the thread where it is all so beautifully set out. Thanks 'Maksor' will make a start. Fay |
