Morality Police
I don't know, Staff-Sergeant, use of the word "pimped" on this web site might invoke the ire of the morality police. When I first joined and made joking and passing reference to a risque website, the morality police almost blew a head gasket.

Why is it that most of us complain about the MP3's weight, but we keep on adding crap to it!

Road Rally MP3
Cannonball bike, 330 miles without refueling, nearly 400 if I stop to add the red can. 2010 Cannonball rally number seen here Vented windscreen, greatly reduces helmet buffet and the vacum between the rider and the windscreen. Bar-ends for transport. 2008 Cannonball rally number here. The Cannonball usually covers over 50 miles of roads in this condition or worse. ![]() No serious Cannonball bike is complete without a hardwired GPS. (2007 photos)

Yes, I understood that, I can see the red light.
Maxor rides mostly in Holland where they have no interest in Miles. If you look at the earlier photos you will see as part of the process the plastic sheet with the Kph and Mph on it, is free of the binnacle. (A term used to describe a unit housing or containing instruments for display and use) If it is not such a huge job to strip it down to put a red light in (ie it is not a sealed unit), for those of us no longer blessed with 20/20 vision it would be possible to have a speedo we can read without our glasses. So, Maksor how difficult would it be to replace the figures on the Speedo dial with more easily read Mph.
There have been many gripes about this on many forums. If it was an afternoons work I think there would be a good demand for a replacement backing for the dial. Getting inside the unit is possible, but how easy would it be to free the printed background from the 'needle' and replace it with a different one? Fay |

Fay you could stick/glue numbers or something on the plate and you could also make a new backplate with miles on it
keep in mind that the plate is white/milky and the white lets lightup the numbers the red is also transparent |

As with many things, the simple 'solution' - sticking numbers on the outside is neither practical, nor elegant.
The Mph markings are too small to read with less than 20/20 vision. Sticking numbers or strips of tape is unsightly and because of the back lighting is less than satisfactory. The solution is therefore to de-construct the assembly, remove the milky white translucent original and replace it with another with clearer markings. I suspect that removing the indicator needle to replace the entire printed sheet might be a problem. Probably might resolve that by first cutting the Speedometer side away from the rev counter side, then splitting the speedo part across the middle thereby freeing it from the assembly without disturbing the needle and replacing it with a similarly split large print Mph version re-assembled behind the needle and glued into place before reassembly. Probably print something on a sheet designed for an overhead projector. Unfortunately the recession is leaving neither time nor budgets for hobbies, recreation or anything not focussed on generating immediate income. I have had no hot water in the house for three weeks, the waste disposal has gone south, curtain tracks have stopped working the house is generally in chaos. and dealing with all that is, as we say, on the back burner. Shouldn't even be taking time out to spend time thinking about speedos and two headlight projects. fondest, Fay |

I have sold my italians and now ride a Honda Big Ruckus. A bit ugly (in a nice way) and a bit underpowered but OMG sooooo comfy. I can ride that thing all day and not have any backpain =) I just love it |
