Modern Vespa

Starting with the Honda Metropolitan I bought in 2004 new, then my 2006 Vespa LX150 I bought for a steal used and finally to my current 2007 Vespa GTS in Dragon Red (the last pic is from when I had the GTV Dark Tan seat at first and wound up selling it to buy the GT60 seat in black)....here's the pix:

No I don't own them all anymore....just the red GTS...drove the Honda for 3 years, bought the LX150...drove it for 6 months and 500 miles and sold that to get the GTS....as far as the helmet, it's a Shoei TZ-R Nucleus model...got a steal of a deal on it last year at Sierra Trading Post online for like $150...they have long been sold out but are still available all over the internet.

Just scooters not motorcycles.

'02 Yamaha Vino - still own it and my friend at work mostly (exclusively) rides it.

'07 Yamaha C3 - Stolen, but i loved that scooter (fuel injected too!)

'08 Fly 150 great machine which made me want to upgrade so i got a

'06 Kymco P250 also a great machine, but it has a lot of miles..... should hold me over until I get the funds for a GTS

Thanks, its really not that nice in person (no rust but needs a good paint job) but it will be come the Spring. This winter will be a Full resto season for it.

Does your scoot have a patina of time or is it simply cause it looks like sh*t?

I kinda like the vintage bikes to have the luster of time; but if it's ratty, get a good paint job in a classic color.

It started life seafoam green in color. You can see that when you take off the engine cowl. It was painted red long ago and it is dull and faded. This winter it is going to be painted black, not sure whether it will be flat black or gloss but black it will be with lots of chrome.

i really dont know but in exess of 70 ...... like alot of british scooterists about my age(46)scooters were given away free or traded for MAD swaps 25+ yrs ago sometime the engine was taken out an used the rest was chucked on a scrap heap
