That's not SWAG. That's simply Vespa logo merchandise you have to buy. SWAG is free promotional things like T shirts, stickers, patches etc. generally given out by sponsors of events.

In general SWAG is any item you get for free as a promotion to the company that provided it.
In the fashion magazine industry it is free purses, shoes, clothes... At a scooter rally you get SWAG from Corazzo (stickers, shirt..) or Vespa (stickers or magnets, key chains) and the local dealers and sponsors of the rally. If you go to a trade show is could be pens, stickers, magnets, rulers, highlighters, pencils Free Stuff to get their name into your hands. |

swag:
Promotional merchandise for a band, record label, or other entity in the music business, usually distributed at concerts. May include t-shirts, stickers, promo CDs, posters, etc. Often free, but not necessarily; a t-shirt or record purchased at a concert might still be considered swag, especially if it is a design or release that is not readily available in the mass market. |

We have Swag in our scooter club,
But it's included with your membership payment, You get a patch, A key fob and some stickers. I wouldn't call that swag, More like.... "No one wants this stuff, So buy it here cheap" |

I had a boss you use to give SAG answers: Scientific Wild Ass Guess which was a Wild Ass Guess with some knowledge of the subject matter. You could get the SWAG if he kinda knew what you were talking about but he wasn't 100% sure, just 80% sure. |

I picked up some of this stuff last night along with That L do Pig. After visiting a couple of stores, it seems the hardest items to find are the messenger bags and the pen/pencil sets. The metal case that the pen set comes in is very cool - it looks like the louvered cowl of a vintage.
Prices after the 50% discount are as follows: Spiral bound notebooks - $4.97 Magnet set - $4.97 Fenderlight clock - $12.47 Messenger bag - $14.97 Pen/Pencil set - $7.47 Small bound notebooks - $2.47 The two coffee mugs that That L do Pig mentioned are $8 each. |

Limited availability
Apparently the local manager decides what gets purchased for displays, which explains why some stores don't have any.
Here in northern california, the store at Tanforan seems to have some items (they are near Burlingame, CA). None of the other stores I have checked have any items. |

Only the larger B&N stores had the endcap display. If you have any stores near major malls, check with them.

I checked two stores around here in San Jose. Stevens Creek had one mug and the Pruneyard had a few notebooks. No clock, which was what I had hoped to find.
