Once they changed the Rx meds, I did much better. Stopped feeling like I was always off balance. So thanks to my cousin (who loves a challenge)
I got to try being a passenger on his new Vespa 300 & his MP3. I didn't do so well on either - but the two wheeler was worse - more for him then me.
I almost knocked us both down when he turned out of the driveway. I felt so off balance that I instinctively leaned the opposite way. So back the the garage and swapped scooters. I did well for a little while on the 3 wheeler, but then apparently I started shifting. I didn't even realize it at first, although he did. I thought/felt as though I was straight. So we made it back to his place safely although at a fairly slow speed.
So I sulked for a while, he had a few beers, then the humor started. We kept suggesting outrageous ways I may be able to be a passenger at least
without falling off or knocking the driver off too. I think by the time I left he was suggesting everything from velcroing the passenger to driver and or using a tandem parachute harness. I eventually declined all, although I got to admit visuallizing what that would look like got me laughing hysterically at times. My husband listened to all this and decided we'd both lost our minds! I don't know maybe we have - but if I don't keep trying to find ways to continue to do things as normally as possible, I think I will.

End result of experiment: We will absolutely put both of the 50s up for sale. Not going to look to trade in for a 3 wheeler.

Full marks for trying. You've been dealt bloody shitty cards as far as biking is concerned - on one that leans at least.

I'm fairly sure you've said you've been told you shouldn't even try a non-leaning trike or car - but try to blag a passenger ride on one. Balance won't be an issue.

That's a real shame but as Jim said ... at least you gave it a go and discovered it just isn't in the cards. Perhaps you will find something else you can do together that's equally fun.

Life just isn't very fair sometimes ... but at least you are making the best of the hand you were dealt. Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humour!
