Of the rear axle with the wheel off?
I think mine looks funky, it has a raised ridge where the bearing in the cast aluminum plate sits.

Thanks.
Where the arrow is pointing on the axle, is that a ridge? I seem to have a raised ridge on my axle right there that I have not noticed before. As I have had that bearing there fail I am wondering if it has damaged the axle or if that ridge is meant to be there. ![]() |

No (raised) ridge there, just the end of a cylindrical part which sits snugly inside the bearing. At the end of it, where your arrow points, it tapers down a bit to then continue as threads.

Thanks,
I know that taper part (which is actually a sleeve) I'll have to take a photo of mine tonight and post it. The ridge on mine is on the axle itself, it looks like it has been caused by movement of the inner part of the bearing. |

I just reread my previous response and think it was poor English. This what I meant:
There is no raised ridge on the cylindrical partition of the axle. At the end of that cylindrical partition, the axle slims down to then end with threads. I did not mean that sleeve (or spacer). |
