My wife and I took our first extended trip this week. We went over Carson Pass into Minden, NV. The spent the day riding around Lake Tahoe (the east side is absolutely stunning, with great pavement and plenty of curves). On the way home, we went over Sonora Pass (Hwy 108). Here's a picture that shows just how high we climbed.

All in all, a great trip.

Holy smoke! That's a long ways up, damn near hypoxia inducing! What a great trip that had to have been. Cheers!

It did pretty well. On the way up, it went as fast as you would want to go. Any faster would not have been safe. On the way down, was where it struggled. The lack of engine braking meant a lot of brake use.
