That's a great deal. I hate the chrome cowls, but I'm sure you can sell those and make some money to buy different ones.

I saw that one... The "PROJECT" in all-caps scares me, though - there's probably more work there than I'd like to have to do right off the bat. On top of that, chrome cowls aren't my thing. That said, it might be a good bike for somebody with the time and know-how.

If running, that motor alone is worth 1k just by itself. If rebuilt fully, then about $1500 easy for the motor alone.
It's a good deal no matter how you look at it. |

A salvage title is an automobile title with a notation that the vehicle has been damaged in excess of approximately 70% of its pre-accident market value. The exact percentage depends on the insurance provider and any applicable laws and regulations. This notation gets applied to a title when an insurance company pays a total-loss claim on a vehicle, but then sells the vehicle at an auction center. If the vehicle is kept by its owner through a buy-back program, then the vehicle will retain a clean title. A properly restored vehicle is still safely drivable even if it is technically considered a total loss by an insurance company, particularly with older vehicles where even minor cosmetic damage would cost more to fix than the vehicle's pre-accident market value.

To heck with it im hooked
Im gonna roll the dice on the rally and drive up to Aptos and probably buy this one. I had such a blast bitching and moaning over the first rally that I want another chance. Im hoping to really take it up a notch on the next one if it happens. I even have permission from the wife-unit to drag it home if I like it. WHat the heck, worst case I have a bunch of spare parts for the original one. At least this frame isnt cut off from a previous accident like the one I have. Shows what a newbie I am, I actually thought the cowls were supposed to look like this one when I got it.

But it used to look like
This is what I was given. It was a freebie because the previous owner had abandoned it in his moms garage and she wanted to park the car inside. I had never even sat on a scooter before.
