Okay, there's a shagged looking GT 200 around the corner parked under the council offices - I say we nick it in the name of research and see if we can create the LX 200.

Anyway, back to the point - a 500cc vespa would suck ass, and not be a real vespa. scooter? sure. vespa? probably not. |

most of us know a certain someone on this forum who is trying something very similar, might be referred to as "Project Rosebud". THe idea is to cram the LEADER200 in there though since that's got a more tune-able engine than the 250.
I believe there is some good ol' fashioned frame modifications that'll have to be done as well, so it's not a simple engine drop. |

So we like the LX200 idea then... Theoretically I'm out in the garage stuffing a Runner 180 in the scooter 8)
Reality is I don't even have a garage and I'm still dreaming |

Also need to go to rallies and not ride, just sit at whatever bar the meet-up is at. When asked by some smiley faced n00b if you are going on the ride, sneer and say "rides are (insert favorite deroggatory term here), we're going to the strip club" Best though is if you just ignore city rallies (unless they have good strip clubs) and just go to camping rallies without a scooter. Then just talk about scootering and get drunk around a fire. Someone will have brought an old POS to ride and you take your turn trying to destroy it. Go home with a hangover. |

Then just talk about scootering and get drunk around a fire. Someone will have brought an old POS to ride and you take your turn trying to destroy it. Go home with a hangover. 1) City rallies can still be fun. Some die-hards only go to camping rallies, yes ... but the reason Detroit throws a city rally when we could EASILY EASILY throw a camping rally is because i think people come to Detroit with some idea of actually wanting to see the shittiness that is the city of detroit. Sequestering ourselves off in some grassy field seems like we're ignoring an elephant in the room There's some really strange / cool things here ( theater bizarre, the heidelberg project ) that we like showing our guests. That couldn't happen at a camping rally. Plus, i think it shows way more club effort and organization to throw a city rally that people actually want to come to because it's done well. It is MUCH harder work. Anyone can put a keg and some tents up in a field. 2) I find that i feel like i barely even showed for the rally if i don't go on some sort of long ride. Yeah, at many of the old-school rallies i go to ( PVSC, Niagara ) i end up having to lead some sort of club long ride, because the organizing club has just stopped doing it. Everyone's nursing a hangover, and nobody wants to ride. 3) Since i stopped drinking, i've had to change my approach to rallies. It used to be about getting as drunk as i could, getting naked, doing something stupid, etc. Things like a long ride and doing something specific to where i am seem part of the necessary things to do. I mean, we can all go get drunk in our backyards. What makes getting drunk in a really large backyard with a bunch of scooters parked nearby any different? Why travel for that? 4) I think the above reasons are really why no modern scooters show up at camping rallies. Granted, this is part of the reason why the die-hard folks like it ( the lack of auto scoots)... but... what does that say? They would rather ride than get stupid drunk... and i don't necessarily blame them. |

Whatever, Eric, no one actually wants to go to Deee-troit. They get exiled to Detroit.
I've grown a bit tired of city rallies. Township and village rallies are where it's at, turds. |

Not really trying to start anything. I give my opinions and advice on things I know a little about. That's it. It's because my opinions differ that people think I'm trying to start trouble. Not it at all. My opinions are worth whatever anyone paid for them. |

I'm starting to see a trend here, Mike. First is it's obvious that you are always right and everyone else is wrong. Is it really necessary to rebut people point for point to prove it?
Second is the constant baiting of mv members. It's as tired as the old vintage Vs modern thing. I'm hoping you can bring more constructive content, since you are a technically savvy guy. The constant bickering is annoying. Just my opinion. |

Mike has repeatedly stated that we lack a sarcasm / humor filter, putting the blame squarely at our feet for not "getting" it.
Maybe the problem isn't with us at all. Maybe the problem is him? I am not especially fond of Internet trolls, Mike. Your behavior here is increasingly trollish. Either figure out how to convey your "humor" so that it is apparent to someone besides yourself, or just stop posting. |
