Seats kind of hard, If you don't mind sitting on your balls, Go for it.
I prefer the slower GTS 250, But the Italjets are nice looking though.

I want, too.

But mainly to tell people it -only- has a 180cc motor in it and race 250 four stroke guys for pink slips.

I could end up with probably a dozen slow GTS250s or 300s before people caught on not to drag race the tiny motor Dragster.

the mp3, mostly for storage reasons. Most of my other bikes don't have as much storage an I carry a lot if stuff with me to work.

That and I'm not finished "fixing" my GT.

I thought the Amarcord was compelling and sexy but I'd rather have a Dragster any day of the week.

If I had to choose of course. Which is a luxury that I don't have at this point - hell, I actually want to thin my herd a touch.

Should I count up all the "I beat (insert vehicle type here) off the line" threads

We can argue all day but you know that most people wouldn't know 1: what in the hell an Italjet Dragster is and 2: not realize that a smaller displacement 2-stroke will whallop the daylights out of most 4-strokes up to double their size.

Hell I run into it every day on the RD with that little teeny 350 stamped on the side...until I leave those 600s behind off the line. That Italjet has a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds. The RD is 5.2 (unmodified of course)

Except that we've talked at length about the Dragster here. The fact that one guy didn't know anything about it doesn't prove anything, and ignores the substantial knowledge that is, in fact, present.

By your logic, I should be able to prove that all vintage guys are gun-toting alcoholics just by reading a single thread on ScooterBBS.

When they're in proper tune, yes. Sadly, most of the vintage bikes we see out here (and there aren't a lot of new 2 strokes in CA) wheeze their way up the hills, stall out, burn their clutches on a hill, and generally give 2T a bad name.

You should also look out for the Gilera Runner 180SP - same engine, same weight but not quite as pretty. I used to have one and raced absolutely anything in the city limits - other scooters, 600cc sports bikes, it didn't matter. If you couldn't out drag them at the lights then I could certainly fit through smaller holes in the traffic. It did play hell with my riding style - you could only drive these things like an idiot.

It's not the top speed (many modern scooters above 200cc will do the same) but the way it gets there. I'd imagine the T-Max and Honda SH300 are close on acceleration while the Gilera GP800 may be quicker. Italjet were rumoured to be producing a modern 4 stroke version of the dragster but I doubt that will ever happen now - shame as you'd just need to keep the same general look then use the 300cc engine off the SH300 then either add a turbo or a supercharger just to ensure the same feeling of wildness and you'd have a winner.

The dragster 4T was just going to use the QUASAR250 which would have been terribly disappointing to people who wanted a wild an crazy dragster.
