Hello again,

I went to Split, Croatia this morning to pick up a friend from the ferry port coming over from Italy. As I was waiting there a couple came off the ferry with a maxi scooter and the strangest thing happened!!! The guy was standing by the scooter and held it with one hand (I guess he pressed a button or something) the scooter autom. lifter it self on the central stand? seconds later, the seet opens up autom... I could not see what was it, brand, model??? Anyone?

That's pretty darn cool, I have never heard of a scooter with an automated centre stand feature.

Did the guy look like he was a secret agent? Could have been a Bond scooter...

Definitely an X9 500. Lovely scooter, best of breed, the absolute "Rolls Royce" of scooters, and some are still waiting for Piaggio to produce a more reliable replacement.

I wish the GP800 had an electro-hydraulic centre stand. I might even buy an X9 500 from a breakers just to rob some bits. Oops - the last time I did that I just sold it on at cost to a mate after getting it fettled back to road-worthiness.
