I only have the carb for my PX150 motor.

I need help with exactly what I need for mounting.

I know I need a manifold, different choke and throttle cable set up, but exactly what else?

Anyone know where in the states I can purchase this stuff. Max has been MIA @ Motorsport.

I guess I'm looking for a parts list.

Thanks y'all

How does the throttle cable hook up? I know it goes through the little bent pipe that screws in at the top...but how does it hook up to pull the slide?

I'm curious how I'm going to be able to get the choke cable hooked up on this thing.

the pump is because gravity can't keepup with need

check around on this

the choke and throttle are just different length

same deal - longer cables

now for the hard part
fullerton says it is not good to run the carb angled, so there is a need to put a hole in the frame above the carb to accomadate the cable bends

Are you definitely going to run a 24? 28 and 30 PHBH carbs are more common on large frame engines.

Anyway, the throttle cable fits into a notch in the round slide, usually there is a plate which sits on top of the slide which holds the cable and also the mid-range needle in position. There will also be a spring above the slide which will be a challenge at first but you'll quickly get the hang of stuffing it in there.

The choke cable is a different story. Maybe there's some way to use a standard type choke cable but I never did. I always cut down a throttle cable and modified to fit because of the way the cable fits into the choke plunger. The choke plunger also has a notch which the end of the cable fits into. If you are running without a cowl you can use a flip choke setup instead.

Depending on which manifold type you get you will need the metal manifold, rubber manifold boot, hose clamps, and possibly oil drive blanking plate.

Yes you may need to angle the carb or cut/bang a notch above it, otherwise it can hit the bodywork over bumps (or with passengers). You may also need to cut your cylinder shroud slightly for the carb to fit right, but I wouldn't do any of this until you have it in place and see how things are lining up.

Fuel pump is not necessary for all applications, only if you are sucking hella gas or have some angle/gravity issues.

Edit/add ---> Also want to reiterate that afaik the 24 is not a standard application (outside of smallframes) so I'm not aware of any large frame engine manifolds that fit the inlet spigot size of this carb (28/30 PHBH are larger)... happy to be proven wrong though.

Wait!

Gene from Scooters O called me and he seems to have a manifold that will fit the carb to my motor! He's going to take some measurements and call me back next week.

That's what I call service!

On the throttle cable you need to modify one. You can do it one of two ways:

1: Use the stock barrel end in your throttle. You will need to (most likely) cut off the end at the carb so it is a bare cable. Now you'll need to solder on some kind of nipple that will fit down through the round slide (there should be an oblong hole on it, the larger end is for the nipple to fit through, then it will NOT come up through the smaller side. You will have to carefully mark the cable where to solder the little nipple (they sell these but you can make one out of any small brass tubing).

2: Use the stock throttle cable and keep the small end on the throttle slide side and then run the cable up to the headset and use one of those barrell adjusters like on lambrettas, position your cable correctly and screw in the barrel adjuster and slip it into the throttle end.

It should make sense if you look at it.
