About 80 or 81mph, depending on rider weight. That's really wringing it out, though, and takes some effort to get there.

So with you on one it would hit about 53?

(Come on! That one was wide f'ing open)

145kmh indicated.

10% optimistic speedo = 130.5 kmh

131 kmh = 81 mph

cheers

I've gotten my GTS up to 155 km/hr (GPS) passing an 18 wheeler on the highway,
Must have been a slope when I did it because I haven't been able to do that twice.

my old black gts with pm pipe did 83.2 mph on gps that had a 140 section rear tyre so the gearing was up a bit i weigh 175lbs i dont see why a GTV would be any slower than a GTS the scdoot had over 21000 miles on the clock

I had hit the rev limiter riding on the highway on your scooter (when it was mine, I didn't steal his scooter to do this Razz emoticon ) and that occurred around 147 km/hr indicated. But that was into a headwind so I think it could go faster.

The GTV would need a nice flyscreen, not the standard one in order to attain such speeds. The flyscreen will help the GTV get these speeds by improving the aerodynamics of you on the scooter immensely compared with you on the scooter without the screen. The OEM standard little screen is essentially useless in that respect.

You idiots negative f'ing JOKES?

Jess, tell them it was a joke and it's ok to not negative jokes. I mean seriously.

Tell them if they don't retract the negative then you won't like them. Seriously I think some of them stay awake at night worrying about that.

Let them know they don't have to negative everything, especially some good-natured ribbing between two people.

You can definitely get it faster than 80 or 81. But that's a modified bike -- a 140 rear and a PM pipe. For a stock bike, you're probably not going to be able to squeeze that kind of speed out of it.

For the record, I hit 91.3 (GPS) somewhere in Nevada during Cannonball.

The fly screen on the GTV is definitely way too small,
Even my mod style Vespa oem fly screen is too small.

Although I tend to duck down behind the mod fly screen at high speeds,
It's not very comfortable though and the cagers think I look funny.

Haven't tried a mid sized screen yet, Don't really want one though,
My girlfriend has one for her GTS that she uses in the fall.

As everybody has noted, absolute top speed is 80.

In real life, anything over indicated 80 (real 72) is a pain. You have to work to get it up there.

So although my bike will do an honest 80 (it has on occasion), I consider the working top speed to be around 70.

before I put the meduim faco screen, I had a GPS of 75, and throttle to spare on the strait away. I was driving into the wind too no less. I am thinking with the screen and full throttle, I can get a bit over 80 gps.
