So I passed my MSF basic course last weekend and got my motorcycle endorsement. I'm heading to California this weekend to pick up a 2001 ET4 150cc that I bought off craigslist. I'm super-excited to get it, but I'm told it doesn't have a manual. Does anyone know how I could acquire one? Also, any helpful tips/advice for a new (used) scooter owner?

Ahh, thanks I had seen that site but hadn't quite perused through all of it. The scan quality is a little wonky in a couple pages, but it's certainly better than nothing. Thanks!

If anyone has better manuals or scans for the ET2s and ET4s then please send them to me via email for upload to the repository.

Got my scooter home! It's in amazing condition (it's a 2001, only 1100 miles). I rode it a couple times over the weekend (first time out on the road, not in a parking lot) and it rode beautifully. Now to get it registered/smogged/insured!

Riding has been an absolute blast I just got my insurance, so I feel safe riding around before I get my scooter registered (I live in AZ, but bought it in CA). And reading these forums has given me a wealth of information, it's a great resource.

Be sure you get all the keys for the scoot. Specifically the red/brown one and at least one blue one.
I have heard too may stories about riders losing the only key they got or the red/brown one. |

To get an extra ET2/4 Key
To get an extra ET2/4 Key the part # is 573426. This is the same part # for all LX, LXV, GTV, GTS models.
You can purchase/ order them from your local Vespa dealer for $35 This is a must have if your pron to loosing or misplacing your keys often. The master key (brown) is NOT an extra/spare!! It is only used to program the new blank key, after you take it to get cut at any local hardware store. If you need one, i have them here at Vespa Hillsboro. Google us, and give me a call. I'll hook ya up! |
