Modern Vespa

Well we (wife and I) did it again. We got two vehicles the same color, or lack there of, in grey. My Vespa and her new Honda Accord Lease.
Don't know if this happens to you but it seems over the course of time we tend to get into color lock/fixation either in vehicles, furniture or the like.
Now we have a Grey Vespa and a grey Accord, a grey couch system and grey hair....agggh.
While many may like grey, a neutral non color in my book, enough is enough. My Vespa was a leftover reduced priced one color GTV model. Hona has row after row of color combinations.I think she just took me along to keep the salespersons of her back. I wanted color, I wanted snap, I wanted wood grained accents, I wanted to eat again so we got grey
I quess we all can't have the fastest red,yellow,black,blue, or Traffic Jammer ocen teal. What's your favorite color 8)

like most of the retro colours mate.....but not the new lx pink. ..not to sure yet about the new gts yellow to be honest.......but like the light blue and green on the gtv, lx, range.......mine is red......ok so far, mart

Well, mine wasn't always Ocean Teal! It was originally Excalibur Gray until I bailed off it and gave it a few nasty paint boo boos!

Just love it, ride it and enjoy. Eventually, you may have to repaint and you can pick whatever colour you like!

I love my yellow and teal scooters! Not fussy on the dragon red ... but that may change at some point in time. I am loving the House of Kolour KBC03 Wild Cherry but I would be happy with any number of their colours seen here! http://www.houseofkolor.com/speedshapes/speedshapes_shimrin.jsp

My partner is someone who loves grey, so the GT 200 is grey and the LX 150 is black (not grey but not brightly coloured either). I chose the car colour and it is red, our first ever red car and both of my GTS's have been red.

I don't mean to be argumentative, but grey is a colour! Just like beige and warm black. I do like the GTV grey, it has a slightly purple hue to it. (or is that the grey on the GT60?)

And to those who see the world as either "black and white" or "shades of grey", there are many shades of black and white too!

Unfortunately, Piaggio does not offer the same selections for the BV series!

We seem to have fixated on blue. My husband's car is blue. The used car that we share is blue. My car is silver but with blue leather. I actually like blue a lot and have a lot of blue in our house too.

I did not get the blue GTS. I just thought it was too dark and wouldn't stand out much. However, silver is not exactly a noticeable color either. I really like the Capri Blue and the Vintage Green, but I wanted the GTS engine and styling. Oh well, maybe some day I will repaint. I usually like subdued colors in cars, but Vespas should be bright, cheery, and noticeable 8)

I am ok with the lack of color...saves me time and money on car washes!!

We've had a string of white cars - Honda Civic, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Subaru Forester, and now Toyota Rav4. I would have gotten a white Vespa, but there weren't any. Before the white cars, we had red cars.

I actually really like the grey GTV. Enjoy!

Beige doesn't become a recognisable colour until you're retired. Then it becomes addictive, like heroin; and soon you're entire wardrobe will be beige.

beige, and there is also a smokey grey-blue - i don't know the name of the colour but i've come to think of it as OAP blue.

black, white, and everything in between are colours when they take the form of pigments, but not when generated as light.

I love my daring plum and a close runner up was portofino green. Had a hard time deciding. Plum won out . I don't like the pink. Had a bunch a few years ago in Hanoi and i just couldn't see me riding it. However you are definitely more visible. Years ago i had a custom sea kayak and it was hot pink with purple a stripe I figured if i ever got lost at sea they would spot me much quicker. from above Luckily i never had to test out my theory

The first car I ever owned was red. Since then I've had numerous cars and they've all been different colours... Blue White White maroon black and now maroon. coincidentally my first vespa is red, so by logical standards my next Vespa should be blue.

I say price outweighs color, so if you got a better price great. Spend some of the savings, and put on some racing stripes with a stand out color which compliments the grey.

My flatmate was very sad when I got rid of my smoke silver GT125 - he'd liked that it matched his Nissan Almera! (We both bought the vehicles long before we moved in together.)

My GF is a color expert and she said "Yes, it is."
My scooter and helmet are fire engine red. It gets noticed, even by the worst drivers...

I think your right, patterns of our lives, what we choose, what we repeat, and yes, grey is a color-in the chromatic catagory. I don't really dislike the GTV grey, (or I wouldn't have bought it), but if there were other color choices I might have gone red or yellow -that jump at your senses on the showroom floor. Black is elegant, white is a canvas to work on. Blue is peaceful. I'm a sucker for British racing green for some odd reason and have had 3 converibles in variations of it. I think that with the brown leather seat it might look good, but brighter colors have more snap.
Just came back from the Adirondaks and the hills are alive with color, but alas the skies where grey and rainy, robbing the brilliance that peeked thru from time to time.

My truck is white and my scooter is black. I believe in diversity.

Oh and I do like that Gray BJ.

I have a silver Acura and a silver Honda to match the silver scooters. I also have a white and red car and a black truck, but no scooters to match them yet!

First scoot I got was blue, because that's all they had. Second one, I got my nice burgundy red like I wanted in the first place. Third, silver was all they had. Same with the 4th.

I was originally jonesing to get a Daring Plum GT, as purple is my favorite color, and that's the only thing above 150cc that's offered in any shade of purple. But my dealer said they couldn't get one. So I started drooling over the 250s. Really wanted a GTV, but didn't care for the Portofino or Avio, so I nearly settled on a black GTS. Then they came out with Siena Ivory, and the rest is history.

I normally don't go for ivory stuff. But I now find myself with about half a dozen new ivory shirts in the closet... so it must be "this year's color" for me or something.

I chose white, not because I particularly like it, but because I thought it was more visible than black or red. I decided this after watching a video on you tube of the 300 done in Australia.

We have a silver car & I ended up with a silver Vespa. When I was shopping around for my Vespa soulmate, I didn't really have a color preference (just knew I didn't want that bright yellow). Got a great price on her & that was it!

I used to have a Silver Audi A6 before I purchased my Midnight Blue GT. I originally liked the silver Vespa but when I gazed at the Midnight Blue color, I liked it. Hence, I bought it. Now I have an Ibis White Audi A3, that replaced the A6. I think that White is the new silver.

There are so many shades (or hues!) of gray, and most of them are quite attractive on the right object.
I remember some Audi colors: an airy Aviator Gray, and a military Nimbus Gray on the TT, a purplish Oyster Gray on the A8 and A6, and a rare Suzuka Gray, almost white. I can very well see that one has a gray phase, and it doesn't have to be drab at all. So, enjoy your days of gray, and be preparaed, there could be others to follow, as you might reach a phase of your life where you can be daring and bold (again?).
