I am trying to decide if I am going to install the tall windscreen on my LXV to expand the riding season. I have the tall windscreen on my other bike (GTS) and it really helps when the temps drop and when I ride on the highways. But the moment it gets hot the windscreen comes off. So the question is...how hard is it to install and remove the windscreen on the LXV.

At first look, it looks like you have to remove the headset and maybe even disconnect the speedometer to change the brackets for the taller windscreen , which is more than I want to do. If anyone out there has done it, can you give a gal the heads up on how you did it..

it should just screw in under where your lights are at and should require no modifying. i really doubt in would require any taking off of parts.

look at this item, also i would ask you buy from your local dealer to keep them in business and they could answer the question better for you.

I went to the dealer on Friday to purchase and have the windscreen installed. Unfortunately, the guy that knows how to install the LXV windscreen had left for the day. The guy that was at the shop did not want to chance breaking anything so he told me to come back. I don't mind supporting my local dealer, but, I would hate to have always have to make an appointment, and then have to wait around whenever I wanted to take the windscreen on and off - which I do every fall and summer.

I also bought my windscreen for my GTS a local dealer but I installed it myself. It is a really easy install for the GTS and LX, all you have to do is insert the end of the brackets with the expander bolts into the spaces provided in the headset and turn the bolts 'till they lock in place. Nerd emoticon The LXV looks to be a more complicated. I may not get it at all if it is a big hassle to take on and off.

I don't have an LXV but I do have LX's. I don't know if the windscreens are different for the LXV but on mine, nothing has to come off. Just screw it on and off as you wish. I have done it a few times. Takes me about 5 minutes. The first time took maybe 12 minutes because I was reading the instructions. It really couldn't be much simpler!
