the vespa gts 250 COMPUTER needs replacing. correct it is in the throttle body or something. three ecu codes came up and deveeloped a system fail. the mechanics checked and rechecked several times and concluded my scooters COMPUTER needs replacing. nearly 600.00 usd to complete the repair. Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon Crying or Very sad emoticon anyone have this issue? is that about right to complete the job? can i do it? does the scoot need new keys after? thanks for whatever answers i get.

You won't need new keys as long as you have the 'red' brown key.

Out of warranty I assume.

Did they try reloading the firmware?

Software loaded into the ECU and saved as the new 'master' software. I believe there has been at least one GTS 250 update - cheekythomas has alluded to it a couple of times.

Well worth trying first, as it's far cheaper (free if your dealer is friendly) than a new ECU!
