Awhile back there was a discussion about scooter rides in Italy. I neglected to write down the info so if anyone can give me the name of the organization that offered these tours, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

A couple of organizations were mentioned. The one put together by a group of us MVers is at www.scootitaly.com

or you can just rent one and go for a ride.

I just rented a big ol honkin BMW1100 and rode across italy right in and around tuscany/umbria area....I just taped a chunk of map to the gas tank and off I went. I should have brought my GPS and my helmet, but aside from that it was completely awesome.

There are a variety of ways to do a scootering vacation in Italy. Make your choice based on your interests and how you like to ride and vacation.

Generally most expensive are "structured" tours. Here, you are provided with a rather detailed itinerary, most of your meals, a dedicated tour guide, etc. You can see the type of hotel and activity from their published itineraries. Typically, you stay at one hotel and do your riding in the surrounding area on "out and back" rides.

Examples:

Significantly less expensive is the "semi-structured" tour the MVers are doing: www.scootitaly.com

Only daily breakfast and three evening meals are specifically on the schedule. Ever other day offers you freedom to explore the local area as you see fit, and there are five one-way cross country rides as we change hotels and general locations, but folks are free to ride with the group or as they see fit. As in the structured tour, you can check out the itinerary to see the hotels being used.

Least expensive is as Joel suggests: just book your own accommodations (in advance or as you go along), rent a scooter and do your own thing. We did that last year (actually rode our own scooters) and had a great time. https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic34379

Good luck in finding something that tickles your fancy.
