after changing rollers today i took the scooter out for a test ride and noticed right away that in the low rpms the clutch was not engaging the back wheel. it felt as though it was slipping and not fully grabbing like it used to with the old rollers. i positioned the belt deep in the clutch pulley and made sure the outer variator half was not pinching the belt then torqued everything to spec; all washers in correct order; cleaned everything in there (sanded the clutch pads and took a scotchbrite to the clutch bell, even though they weren't glazed.) took everything apart and put back together and the problem is still present. is this a common symptom of new rollers or what am i doing wrong?

Perhaps your rollers were the wrong weight. Were they the same clour as the ones you removed?

I am not sure why you have these symptoms. I do know that rollers can make strange noises until they settle/bed in. It sounds like you have done the change by the book. Hopefully someone else will chime in soon.

Whe you removed the clutch, did you blow it out? My GTS gets a great deal of dust in the mechanism inside the clutch. I think maybe the dust doesnt let the pads move against the inside of the bell housing.

Did you make sure the rollers were all pointed the correct (same) direction?

yeah, they were all correct position. i rode around town today and the problem has subdued a little but its still there. im guessing its just part of the break-in because i recall having the same "problem" after i had my old rollers put in at the dealership. it went away eventually. why does this happen though?
