Modern Vespa

Hey, I am new on this great site and very happy to see that there are much more people out there using their Vespas for long rides.
I traveled on big bikes before, but nothing is as comfortable as a Vespa. Just miss the end speed sometimes.

this pix are from my last trip to the Atacama dessert in Chile. I had a great time with my buddy
gran total - 3800 km (approx 2360 miles)

I have done another Trip this December 2010 to Ushuaia (the end of the world) but on an Enduro, maybe some people wont like me to post that here on this forum. - What do you think??? -

thanks android - its easier for me because I live here for a view years already - First I was afraid of doing it on the Vespa because of not wanting to destroy it, but now nowing the road I would do it with some more time,
to tighten all the bolts from time to time

I never had a problem with the airfilter because I cleaned it from time to time and most of the time the sand an dust is behind the bike anyway

Wow, great photos - and the deep sand sounds scary!

Hey Huskyteer - thought so too, but with enough speed (difficult to get over 40 km/h anyway) no problem and if you take the gas away you stop in no time, because of the deep sand. As you can see we did that two up and it was possible.

Lovely - I haven't seen so much backcountry riding on a scoot - it looks like a lot of fun

Thoroughly enjoyed your report, bjoerntheh, especially the ride to Ushuaia. I've been dreaming and scheming for the past couple of years on how to do the same on my scooter. Don't have a solid plan yet but I'm working on it.

hey ks7877 - Thanks for your comment - If there are more then three interessted I could organize a tour either on your own Vespas or if not you can rent mine - I am about to buing more Vespas just to rent them and make Tours through Southamerica
