Welcome...

In order to get better answers - perhaps a little more background info would be useful...

- Are they both new or used?
- What are your riding needs?
- What is your riding experience?
- What is your mechanical expertise?
- How is your local dealer/dealers?

Etc, etc, etc...

The more you can relay to MV members, the better the response we can give you!

I have to say the Aprilia SR125 (2-stroke) is a fantastic little machine. A neighbour has one, and I had the opportunity to test-ride it after sorting out a CDI problem for him. The SR50 though is just - well, not exactly fun to ride, and can't properly keep up with traffic.

If I was forced to by one I'd go with the SR50, based entirely on appearance.

Have you tried the Aprila Forum?

The only new 50 i would ever ride is an SR. The sportcity is a joke. At least on an LX50 you look good. 8) SR's are great scoots that can get up to 50+ mph with the stock setup. They handle wonderfully, too. If he's looking at an '09, it will have the Piaggio purejet engine, not the Di-tech. Very similar, but faster than the Di-tech out of the box without having to mod!

Modern Vespa is the premier site for modern Vespa and Piaggio scooters. Vespa GTS300, GTS250, GTV, GT200, LX150, LXS, ET4, ET2, MP3, Fuoco, Elettrica and more.
